    Abstract

The urgency of developing intercultural competence in learning Indonesian for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) is increasingly prominent in the era of globalization, especially in Australia. Intercultural competence, which includes a deep understanding of culture and the ability to communicate across cultures, is essential to achieving effective communication. The challenges faced are the limited cultural content in the available BIPA teaching materials, as well as the lack of additional teaching materials that comprehensively integrate this aspect. Based on these issues, this study aims to produce reading enrichment teaching materials containing cross-cultural communication with the theme of culinary insight based on the Victoria Certification of Education (VCE) curriculum for BIPA learners in grades 11 and 12 in Australia. The research method used is the development of the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. This study involved two respondents in the analysis stage in the form of interviews, and five respondents in the product trial stage in the form of questionnaires. The enrichment teaching materials developed consist of 4 units, namely Mari Sarapan, Mari Makan Siang, Mari Makan Malam, and Mari Jajan, and are designed based on the VCE Indonesian Second Language curriculum and packaged in the form of digital modul. The research findings show that the enrichment teaching materials developed received positive responses from material experts, cultural experts, graphic experts, BIPA teachers, and BIPA practitioners with an average score of 91%. The results of this development research also show that (1) there is a need for cultural teaching materials that are easily linked to learners' experiences in BIPA learning in Victoria, (2) culinary culture is a culture that is easily integrated into cross-cultural communication, so that it can help improve learners' intercultural competence.
