Abstract

Penelitian dilatarbelakangi oleh fenomena maraknya perguruan pencak silat yang berselisih paham, dan tindakan anarkis yang merugikan masyarakat. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengembangan modal sosial di kalangan siswa yang mengikuti ekstrakurikuler pencak silat. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah eksperimen dengan menggunakan desain penelitian pretest-posttest control group. Partisipan penelitian berjumlah 130 siswa SMA yang terdiri atas siswa SMKN 1 Tambelang, SMAN 1 Sukatani, MAN 1 Cikarang, dan Tim PPSM Maung Lugay Kabupaten Bekasi. Instrumen modal sosial merujuk berdasarkan instrumen Forsell, Tower & Polman (2018) yang berjudul Development of a Scale to Measure Social Capital in Recreation and Sport Clubs. Temuan penelitian menunjukan bahwa siswa yang tidak mengikuti ekstrakurikuler pencak silat memiliki modal sosial yang rendah, siswa yang mengikuti ekstrakurikuler pencak silat tidak ter-integrasi modal sosial memiliki peningkatan modal sosial yang tidak signifikan, sedangkan siswa yang mengikuti ekstrakurikuler pencak silat yang ter-integrasi modal sosial memiliki nilai modal sosial yang paling tinggi. Hal ini menunjukan bahwa masih diperlukan program pelatihan modal sosial untuk meningkatkan modal sosial siswa. Program latihan modal sosial dirancang berdasarkan kebutuhan siswa. The background of the research is the phenomenon of the rise of pencak silat schools that have differences of opinion, and anarchic actions that are detrimental to society. The study aims to develop social capital among students who take part in pencak silat extracurricular activities. The approach used is an experiment using a pretest-posttest control group research design. The research participants were 130 high school students consisting of students from SMKN 1 Tambelang, SMAN 1 Sukatani, MAN 1 Bekasi, and Team PPSN Maung Lugay Bekasi’s Regency. The social capital instrument refers to the Forsell, Tower & Polman (2018) instrument entitled Development of a Scale to Measure Social Capital in Recreation and Sport Clubs. The research findings show that students who do not take part in pencak silat extracurricular activities have low social capital, students who take part in pencak silat extracurricular activities that are not integrated with social capital have an insignificant increase in social capital, while students who take part in pencak silat extracurricular activities that are integrated with social capital have the highest social capital value. This shows that social capital training programs are still needed to improve students' social capital. Social capital training programs are designed based on students' needs.
