Abstract

This study aims to enhance students' understanding by implementing a power window system simulator as an innovative learning tool. The study provides a description of students' activities during the learning process using the power window system simulator, students' responses to its use, and their learning outcomes after the learning process. A descriptive quantitative method was used to collect data aligned with the predetermined research questions. The power window system simulator was implemented with 25 11th-grade students in the Light Vehicle Body Engineering program at SMK Negeri 14 Bandung. The findings reveal that the level of student activity during the learning process with the power window system simulator reached 83.5%, indicating that students were highly engaged in the learning process and effectively understood the operational steps of the simulator. Students' responses to learning with the power window system simulator were categorized as “Excellent,” with an average percentage score of 84.2%. Additionally, the use of the simulator significantly improved students’ knowledge, as indicated by an average N-Gain score of 0.399043, which falls into the “Moderate” category. The average post-test score of the students was 74.8, classified as “Good”. In conclusion, this study offers novelty by developing and implementing a power window system simulator as an interactive learning medium specifically designed to enhance students' competencies in understanding the electrical system of power windows, which previously relied solely on textbooks as the primary learning resource.
