Abstract
Penelitian dilatarbelakangi oleh minat baca peserta didik yang rendah. Minat baca merupakan aspek penting dalam keterampilan literasi yang perlu dimiliki oleh peserta didik di abad ke-21. Pembelajaran IPS mempunyai peran penting dalam menstimulasi minat baca peserta didik. Salah satu model pembelajaran IPS yang dapat diterapkan adalah model pembelajaran LOK-R. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis pengaruh model pembelajaran LOK-R terhadap minat baca peserta didik dalam pembelajaran IPS. Peneliti menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode kuasi eksperimen dan desain nonequivalent control group design. Responden penelitian yaitu peserta didik SMPN 74 Kota Bandung. Kelompok eksperimen dari kelas VIII B dan kelompok kontrol dari kelas VIII. Teknik pengumpulan data memakai angket minat baca dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data dengan uji paired sample t-test, uji independent t-test, dan uji n-gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan minat baca pada sebelum dan setelah perlakuan model pembelajaran LOK-R di kelompok eksperimen, dibuktikan dari perolehan uji paired sample t-test dengan nilai signifikansi (2-tailed) 0,000 < 0,05. Berdasarkan uji independent t-test menghasilkan nilai signifikansi kurang dari 0,05 (p = 0,028 < 0,05) dan nilai rata-rata kelompok eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelompok kontrol dengan demikian dapat dinyatakan terdapat perbedaan minat baca pada kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Hasil uji N-Gain menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran LOK-R mempengaruhi minat baca termasuk kategori sedang dan cukup efektif. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran LOK-R berpengaruh terhadap minat baca peserta didik dalam pembelajaran IPS. The research was motivated by students' low interest in reading. Reading interest is an important aspect of literacy skills that students need to have in the 21st century. Social studies learning has an important role in stimulating students' reading interest. One of the social studies learning models that can be applied is the LOC-R learning model. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of the LOC-R learning model on students' reading interest in social studies learning. Researchers used a quantitative research approach with quasi-experimental methods and a nonequivalent control group design. The research respondents were students of SMPN 74 Bandung City. The experimental group was from class VIII B and the control group was from class VIII. Data collection techniques using reading interest questionnaire and documentation. Data analysis techniques with paired sample t-test, independent t-test, and n-gain test. The results showed a difference in reading interest before and after the treatment of the LOC-R learning model in the experimental group, as evidenced by the paired sample t-test with a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05. Based on the independent t-test test, the significance value is less than 0.05 (p = 0.028 < 0.05) and the average value of the experimental group is higher than the control group, thus it can be stated that there is a difference in reading interest in the experimental group and the control group. The N-Gain test results show that the LOC-R learning model affects reading interest in the medium category and is quite effective. So it can be concluded that the LOC-R model of learning affects the reading interest of students in social studies learning.
