Abstract
Bahasa Inggris disinyalir penting untuk membantu siswa mengembangkan potensi serta kemampuan diri dalam berkomunikasi dan terhubung secara bebas dan luas. Perbendaharaan kata merupakan kemampuan yang ada pada diri untuk dapat memahami suatu kata dalam berkomunikasi biak secara lisan maupun tulisan. Penguasaan perbendaharaan kata Bahasa Inggris di sekolah dasar tergolong rendah. Hal ini diduga berasal dari model pembelajaran yang bersifat monoton dan tidak sesuai dengan pembelajaran abad ke-21. Hal ini menunjukan perlu adanya pengembangan model pembelajaran salah satunya dengan menggunakan model Game Based Learning (GBL). Penelitian ini dilakukan di SDN 3 Cisomang. Tujuan dari penelitian ini diantaranya mengetahui: (1) Peningkatan perbendaharaan kata Bahasa Inggris siswa sekolah dasar yang mendapatkan model pembelajaran GBL berbantaun Quizizz dibandingkan dengan siswa yang mendapatkan model pembelajaran cooperative learning; (2) Pengaruh model pembelajaran GBL terhadap perbendaharaan kata Bahasa Inggris siswa sekolah dasar. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan kuasi eksperimen non-equivalent control group design pada pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris Where is my pencil di kelas IV sekolah dasar dengan jumlah subjek 42 siswa. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan yaitu tes, observasi dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian didapatkan Kesimpulan: (1) Peningkatan perbendaharaan kata Bahasa Inggris siswa yang mendapatkan model pembelajaran GBL lebih baik dibandingkan dengan siswa yang mendapatkan model pembelajaran cooperative learning; (2) Terdapat pengaruh sebesar 66.1% dari penerapan model GBL terhadap kemapuan perbendaharaan kata Bahasa Inggris siswa. Oleh karena itu, model GBL dapat dijadikan alternatif dalam pembelajaran khususnya dalam meningkatkan perbendaharaan kata Bahasa Inggris siswa. Peneliti selanjutnya direkomendasikan melakukan penelitian sejenis dengan menerapkan model GBL untuk meningkatkan perbendaharaan kata lainnya. ; ----- English was considered important to help students develop their potential and ability to communicate and connect freely and widely. Vocabulary was the ability that existed in oneself to be able to understand a word in communicating both orally and in writing. Mastery of English vocabulary in elementary schools was low. This was thought to come from a learning model that was monotonous and not in accordance with 21st century learning. This showed the need for the development of learning models, one of which was by using the Game Based Learning (GBL) model. This research was conducted at SDN 3 Cisomang. The objectives of this study included knowing: (1) The increase in English vocabulary of elementary school students who got the GBL learning model with Quizizz compared to students who got the cooperative learning model; (2) The effect of the GBL learning model on the English vocabulary of elementary school students. This research method used a quasi-experimental non-equivalent control group design on learning English Where is my pencil in class IV elementary school with a total of 42 students. The research instruments used were test, observation, and documentation. Based on the results of the studied, the conclusions was:(1) The improvement of students' English vocabulary who got the GBL learned model was better than students who got the cooperative learned model; (2) There was an influenced of 66.1% from the application of the GBL model on students' English vocabulary ability. Therefore, the GBL model could have used as an alternative in learned, especially in improved students' English vocabulary. Further researchers recommended to conduct similar researched by applying the GBL model to improved other vocabularies.
