Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya prestasi belajar siswa di SMA Swasta di Kecamatan Bogor Barat yang dilihat dari nilai Ujian Nasional Tahun Ajaran 2012/2013. Rendahnya prestasi belajar siswa diduga disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor diantaranya adalah kompetensi guru dan disiplin belajar. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui pengaruh kompetensi guru dan disiplin belajar terhadap prestasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran ekonomi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survey explanatory, dengan menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data berupa angket/kuesioner. Populasinya yaitu siswa kelas XII jurusan IPS SMA Swasta di Kecamatan Bogor Barat dengan jumlah populasi 455 dan diambil sampel sebanyak 213 siswa melalui cara random proporsional. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi guru dan disiplin belajar berada pada kategori sedang. Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi guru dan disiplin belajar berpengaruh positif terhadap prestasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran ekonomi di SMA Swasta di Kecamatan Bogor Barat. Implikasi dari penelitian ini menjadi bahan masukan bagi siswa dan pihak sekolah. Kompetensi guru dan disiplin belajar berpengaruh positif terhadap prestasi belajar, maka kompetensi guru dan disiplin belajar harus ditingkatkan sehingga prestasi belajar siswa meningkat. Kata kunci : kompetensi guru, disiplin belajar, prestasi belajar This research is motivated by low student achievement in high school in the District of Bogor West Private seen from the National Examination Academic Year 2012/2013. The low student achievement is thought to be caused by several factors such as the competence of teachers and learning discipline. The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of teacher competence and learning discipline of student achievement on economic subjects. This research use survey explanatory method, and using a questionnaire. The population are students majoring in social studies class XII Private High School in West Bogor subdistrict with a population of 455 students and sample is 213 students by proportional random. Technique of analyzing data is the multiple linear regression analysis. The results of of this research showed that teacher competence and learning discipline in middle category. Result of hypothesis test showed that the competence of teachers and learning disciplined has a positive effect on student achievement on economic subjects in the Private High School in West Bogor subdistrict. The implication of this research becomes an input for the students and the school. Teacher competence and learning discipline has a positive effect on student achievement, teacher competence and learning discipline must be increased in order to increase student achievement.
