Abstract

Latar belakang dari penelitian ini yaitu pentingnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa dan fakta dilapangan yang menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa masih rendah. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis pengaruh penerapan model kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share (TPS) berbantuan jarimatika terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa serta untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang mendapat perlakuan pembelajaran dengan model kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share (TPS) berbantuan jarimatika dengan siswa yang menggunakan model konvensional. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan ialah quasi experiment dengan desain non-equivalent control group. Desain ini memberikan tes kemampuan awal (pretest) dan tes kemampuan akhir (posttest) setelah diberikan perlakuan treatment pada kedua kelas yang telah ditentukan. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V di UPTD SDN Purwamekar. Sampel yang menjadi subjek penelitian adalah 32 siswa kelas eksperimen dan 32 siswa kelas kontrol. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa model Think Pair Share (TPS) berbantuan jarimatika berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa serta adanya perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang mendapat perlakuan pembelajaran dengan model pembelajaran Think Pair Share (TPS) berbantuan jarimatika dengan siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional. ----- The background of this research is the importance of students mathematical problem solving abilities and facts in the field which show that students mathematical problem solving abilities are still low. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to find out and analyze the effect of applying the cooperative learning model type Think Pair Share (TPS) assisted by jarimatika on students mathematical problem solving abilities as well as to find out and analyze the differences in the mathematical problems solving abilities of student who were treated with cooperative learning type of TPS assisted by jarimatika with students who use conventional models. The type of researh used is a quasi experiment with a non-equivalent control grouo design. The design provides an initial ability test (pretest) and a final ability test (posttest) after being given treatment in the two predetermind classes. The population in this study were fifth grade students at UPTD SDN Purwamekar. The samples that were the subject of the study were 32 students from the experimental class and 32 students from the control class. The result of the data analysis show that the TPS assisted by the jarimatika has an effect on student mathematical problem solving abilites and there are differences in the mathematical problem solving abilites of student who received the learning treatment with the TPS assisted by the jarimatika model with students who used the convensional model.
