Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya kemampuan siswa dalam pembelajaran dongeng. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mendeskripsikan (1) kemampuan mendongeng siswa kelas VII-B SMP Laboratorium Percontohan UPI Bandung tahun ajaran 2022/2023 sebelum menggunakan model Paired Storytelling, (2) kemampuan mendongeng siswa kelas VII-B SMP Laboratorium Percontohan UPI Bandung tahun ajaran 2022/2023 sesudah menggunakan model Paired Storytelling, sarta (3) perbedaan signifikan antara kemampuan mendongeng siswa kelas VII-B SMP Laboratorium Percontohan UPI Bandung tahun ajaran 2022/2023 sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan model Paired Storytelling. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode kuasi ksperimen dengan desain penelitian yaitu One–Group Pretest-Posttest Designs. Teknik yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data yaitu teknik tes lisan kepada siswa kelas VII-B SMP Laboratorium Percontohan UPI Bandung tahun ajarana 2022/2023. Hasil dari penelitian ini menjelaskan bahwa kemampuan mendongeng siswa sebelum menggunakan model Paired Storytelling tergolong perlu bimbingan, yang menunjukan bahwa siswa belum mampu mendongeng dengan memperhatikan aspek lafal, intonasi, dan ekspresi. Sedangkan, kemampuan mendongeng siswa sesudah menggunakan model Paired Storytelling tergolong baik, yang menunjukan bahwa siswa mampu mendongeng dengan memperhatikan aspek-aspeknya. Berdasarkan hasil uji statistik parametrik, Ha diterima dan Ho ditolak. Artinya, terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan mendongeng siswa kelas VII-B SMP Laboratorium Percontohan UPI Bandung tahun ajaran 2022/2023 sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan model Paired Storytelling. berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model Paired Storytelling cocok diterapkan dalam pembelajaran dongeng siswa di kelas VII-B SMP Laboratorium Percontohan UPI Bandung tahun ajaran 2022/2023. This research is motivated by the lack of students' ability to learn fairy tales. The purpose of this study was to describe (1) the storytelling abilities of class VII-B students of the SMP Laboratorium Percontohan UPI Bandung in the 2022/2023 school year before using the Paired Storytelling model, (2) the storytelling ability of class VII-B students of the SMP Laboratorium Percontohan UPI Bandung in the 2022/2023 school year after using the Paired Storytelling model, and (3) significant differences between the storytelling abilities of class VII-B students of SMP Laboratorium Percontohan UPI Bandung in the 2022/2023 school year before and after the use of the Paired Storytelling model. The research method used is a quasi-experimental method with a research design that is One–Group Pretest-Posttest Designs. The technique used in data collection was an oral test technique for class VII-B students of the SMP Laboratorium Percontohan UPI Bandung for the 2022/2023 academic year. The results of this study explain that students' storytelling skills before using the Paired Storytelling model are classified as needing guidance, which shows that students are not yet able to tell stories by paying attention to aspects of pronunciation, intonation, and expression. After using the Paired Storytelling model, students' storytelling abilities were classified as good, indicating that they were able to tell stories by paying attention to its aspects. Based on the results of the parametric statistical test, Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. This means that there is a significant difference between the storytelling abilities of class VII-B students of SMP Laboratorium Percontohan UPI Bandung for the 2022/2023 academic year before and after using the Paired Storytelling model. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the Paired Storytelling model is suitable to be applied in learning fairy tales for students in class VII-B SMP Laboratorium Percontohan UPI Bandung in the 2022/2023 academic year.
