Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh penggunaan media yang masih kurang bervariasi dalam menstimulasi karakter tanggung jawab dan literasi kritis pada anak. Akibatnya, anak usia 5-6 tahun mengalami hambatan dalam pengaplikasian karakter tanggung jawab dan literasi kritis. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, peneliti melakukan pengembangan media pembelajaran berupa Activity Picture Book sebagai alat bantu guru dalam menstimulasi karakter tanggung jawab dan literasi kritis pada anak usia 5-6 tahun. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan media activity picture book dalam upaya menstimulasi karakter tanggung jawab dan literasi kritis pada anak usia dini, untuk mengetahui hasil uji coba materi dan media, serta mengetahui hasil uji coba penggunaan media yang dikembangkan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Educational Design Research dengan model Plomp. Instrumen dan teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah angket validasi ahli, angket respon guru dan wawancara. Partisipan penelitian ini yaitu tujuh orang anak usia 5-6 tahun, penelitian ini dilakukan di salah satu TK yang ada di Kabupaten Jatinangor. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses pengembangan media yaitu menganalisis kebutuhan, membuat brief content, pembuatan visualisasi ilustrasi activity picture book dengan bantuan illustrator, melakukan editing dan revisi, dan dilakukan pelaksanaan uji ahli kepada ahli materi dan media mengenai media yang dikembangkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan media activity picture book berhasil memberikan stimulasi dalam karakter tanggung jawab dan literasi kritis anak. Selain itu, hasil validasi juga menunjukkan bahwa media berada pada kategori sangat layak untuk digunakan. Maka, dapat disimpulkan bahwa media yang dikembangkan layak digunakan sebagai media untuk menstimulasi karakter tanggung jawab dan literasi kritis anak usia dini. ------- This research is motivated by the use of media that still lacks variety in stimulating the character of responsibility and critical literacy in children. As a result, children aged 5-6 years experience obstacles in applying the character of responsibility and critical literacy. Based on this, researchers developed learning media in the form of Activity Picture Book as a teacher's tool in stimulating the character of responsibility and critical literacy in children aged 5-6 years. The purpose of this study was to develop activity picture book media in an effort to stimulate the character of responsibility and critical literacy in early childhood, to determine the results of material and media trials, and to determine the results of trials of the use of media developed. This research uses the Educational Design Research method with the Plomp model. The instruments and data collection techniques used were expert validation questionnaires, teacher response questionnaires and interviews. The participants of this study were seven children aged 5-6 years, this research was conducted in one of the kindergartens in Jatinangor Regency. The results showed that the media development process was analyzing needs, making brief content, making visualization of activity picture book illustrations with the help of illustrators, editing and revising, and conducting expert tests to material and media experts regarding the media developed. The results showed that the activity picture book media successfully stimulated children's responsibility and critical literacy characters. In addition, the validation results also show that the media is in the category of very feasible to use. So, it can be concluded that the media developed is feasible to use as a medium to stimulate the character of responsibility and critical literacy of early childhood.
