Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh fakta di lapangan serta hasil kajian literatur mengenai kesulitannya siswa kelas I yang belum fasih membaca permulaan, untuk mengatasi hal tersebut salah satunya memerlukan media sebagai penunjang upaya meningkatkan kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa, salah satunya dengan media permainan ular tangga dalam membaca. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui penerapan dan pengaruh media permainan ular tangga dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa kelas I serta perbedaannya dengan menggunakan media flash card. Pendekatan penelitian ini menggunakan kuantitatif dengan metode penelitian kuasi eksperimen dan desain penelitian non-equivalent control group desain. Populasi pada penelitian ini yaitu kelas I.I dan kelas I.II di SDN Cipanengah CBM dengan sampel 10 orang dari setiap kelas yang berfokus pada siswa yang belum bisa membaca dan belum lancar membaca. Hasil analisis data pada kelas eksperimen menujukkan nilai rata-rata pretest sebesar 6,70 dengan posttest sebesar 9,30. Selisih nilai tersebut sebesar 2,60 dengan nilai tertinggi pretest 8 poin dan posttest 11 poin serta nilai terendah pretest 5 poin dan posttest 6 poin menunjukkan bahwa adanya perubahan kemampuan membaca permulaan menggunakan media permainan ular tangga di kelas eksperimen. Sedangkan nilai rata-rata hasil posttest dari kelas eksperimen sebesar 9,30 dan kelas kontrol sebesar 7,90 dengan selisih nilai sebesar 1,40 menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan yang signifikansi kemampuan membaca permulaan antara menggunakan media permainan ular tangga dengan menggunakan media flash card namun terdapat perbedaan hasilnya. ---------- This research is motivated by facts in the field as well as the results of a literature study regarding the difficulties of grade I students who are not yet fluent in beginning reading, to overcome this one of them requires media to support efforts to improve students' initial reading skills, one of which is the snakes and ladders game media in reading. The purpose of this study was to find out the application and influence of snakes and ladders game media in improving the beginning reading ability of grade I students and the difference between using flash card media. This research approach uses quantitative with quasi-experimental research methods and non-equivalent control group research design. The population in this study were class I.I and class I.II at SDN Cipanengah CBM with a sample of 10 people from each class which focused on students who could not read and were not fluent in reading. The results of data analysis in the experimental class showed an average pretest value of 6.70 with a posttest of 9.30. The difference in these scores was 2.60 with the highest pretest 8 points and 11 points posttest and the lowest pretest 5 points and 6 points posttest indicating that there was a change in initial reading ability using snakes and ladders media in the experimental class. While the average value of the posttest results of the experimental class was 9.30 and that of the control class was 7.90 with a difference in value of 1.40 indicating that there was a significant difference in the initial reading ability between using snakes and ladders game media and using flash card media but there were differences. result.
