Abstract

Penelitian ini bertolak pada permasalahan: (1) Anggapan negatif terhadap matematika terjadi dalam perkuliahan matematika mahasiswa Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar, (2) Keberagaman mahasiswa yang melatarbelakangi pendidikan mahasiswa PGSD, yakni mereka berasal dari berbagai jurusan, baik IPA, IPS maupun bahasa menjadi salah satu faktor penghambat mahasiswa dalam mengikuti perkuliahan matematika, (3) Lemahnya proses pembelajaran di PGSD mengakibatkan lemahnya proses berpikir mahasiswa, (4) Pada umumnya kemampuan mahasiswa PGSD dalam penyelesaian permasalahan matematika dapat dikatakan sedang dan rendah, jarang sekali mahasiswa yang berkemampuan tinggi, (5) Suasana kegiatan belajar mahasiswa PGSD cenderung tidak terlalu aktif Sejumlah informasi permasalahan tersebut memunculkan pemikiran dari pengajar untuk mencari solusi yaitu diperlukannya suatu strategi dan pendekatan yang lebih inovatif. Oleh karena itu agar terbentuk suatu pembelajaran yang dapat membentuk berpikir kritis maka diperlukan suatu pembelajaran yang mendukung tujuan tersebut. Inquiry based learning (pembelajaran berbasis inkuiri) adalah salah satu pendekatan yang dapat digunakan pengajar sebagai suatu strategi dan pendekatan yang inovatif. Pembelajaran berbasis inkuiri mencakup beberapa pendekatan yang berbeda yaitu meliputi: inkuiri terstruktur, inkuiri terbimbing, dan inkuiri terbuka. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa pretes, postes, angket, wawancara, jurnal dan observasi. Penelitian eksperimen dengan desain kelompok kontrol pretes-postes ini menggunakan populasi seluruh mahasiswa PGSD dan sampelnya mahasiswa semester 4 UPI kampus Serang. Hasil analisa menyatakan bahwa rerata tes mahasiswa yang belajar dengan inquiry based learning yaitu meliputi: pendekatan inkuiri terstruktur, pendekatan inkuiri terbimbing dan pendekatan inkuiri terbuka secara meyakinkan lebih tinggi daripada mahasiswa yang belajar secara konvensional. Peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematika mahasiswa yang mendapat pembelajaran dengan inquiry based learning lebih tinggi secara signifikan pada a = 0,05 daripada mahasiswa yang mendapat pembelajaran konvensional. Rerata kelompok IPA lebih tinggi daripada kelompok IPS dan kelompok bahasa. Peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematika kelompok IPA lebih tinggi secara signifikan pada a = 0,05 daripada kelompok IPS dan kelompok bahasa. Hampir seluruhnya mahasiswa memberikan sikap yang positif terhadap pembelajaran inquiry based learning. This research leaves for at problems: (1) Negative assumption to mathematics happened in lecturing of student mathematics Pre-Service Elementary Teachers, (2) Multiple diverse of student surrounding education of student Pre-Service Elementary Teachers, namely they come from various majorses, either Science, Social and also Linguistic become one of student resistor factor in following mathematics lecturing, (3) the light study process in Pre-Service Elementary Teachers results the light student thinking process, (4) In general ability of student Pre-Service Elementary Teachers in solving of problems of mathematics can be told low and is medium, very rare of capable student of height, (5) situation of activity of student learning Pre-Service Elementary Teachers tends to not overactive A number of information of the problems peeps out idea from instructor to look for solution that is required it a strategy and approach which more inovatif. Therefore to be formed a study which can form thinking stall hence required by a study that is is supporting purpose of the. Inquiry Based Learning be one of approach which can be applied instructor as a strategy and approach which inovatif. Study bases on inkuiri to include;cover some different approachs that is covering: structured inquiry, guided inquiry, and open inquiry. Instrument applied in the form of pretes, postes, enquette, interview, journal and observation. Research of experiment with design group of this pretes-postes control applies population of all student Pre-Service Elementary Teachers and the sample semester student 4 at UPI Serang. Result of calculation expressing that student test average learning with inkuiri based learning: approach of structured inquiry, approach of guided inquiry and approach of open inquiry in assures is higher than learning students conventionally. Improvement of ability thinks student mathematics getting study with approach to base on higher inkuiri in significan at = 0,05 than student getting conventional study. Average group of Science is higher than , group of Social, and group of Language. Improvement of ability thinks mathematics university student group of higher Science in signifikan at = 0,05 than group of Social and group of Language. Almost entirely student gives position which are positive to study of inquiry based learning.
