Abstract

Permasalahan yang umum terjadi pada abad 21 meliputi pengelolaan dan evaluasi atas informasi yang didapatkan oleh siswa, sehingga siswa dituntut untuk memiliki kemampuan literasi informasi dan penguasaan konsep. Penggunaan model pembelajaran inkuiri berbasis internet sangat tepat apabila didasarkan pada permasalahan isu-isu sosial sains (Socioscientific Issue). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh gambaran pengaruh penerapan pembelajaran biologi model QUEST menggunakan Socioscientific issue dalam meningkatkan literasi informasi dan penguasaan konsep siswa SMA. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Quasy experimental dengan desain penelitian yang digunakan yaitu Non-Equivalent control group design. Penelitian dilakukan pada siswa kelas XI IPA di salah satu SMA Negeri Kab. Indramayu (n=60). Temuan keterlaksanaan sintaks pembelajaran model QUEST pada kelas eksperimen secara keseluruhan sudah terlaksana dengan baik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa literasi informasi dan penguasaan konsep siswa antara kelas kontrol dengan kelas eksperimen berbeda secara signifikan. Pada kelas eksperimen peningkatan literasi informasi (N-Gain = 0,71) dalam kategori tinggi dan penguasaan konsep (N-Gain = 0,50) dalam kategori sedang, sedangkan pada kelas kontrol berturut turut (N-Gain = 0,38 dan N-Gain = 0,43) yang termasuk kategori rendah. Selain itu, tanggapan siswa terhadap penerapan pembelajaran biologi model QUEST menggunakan Socioscientific issue dapat dikatakan baik, siswa menunjukkan respon yang positif. Sehingga pada umumnya siswa dapat merasakan manfaat dalam pembelajaran, terutama mampu meningkatkan literasi informasi dan penguasaan konsep siswa SMA. The use of an internet-based inquiry learning model is very appropriate when it is based on social science issues. The purpose of this study was to obtain an overview of the effect of applying the QUEST model of biology learning using Socioscientific Issues in increasing high school students' information literacy and mastery of concepts. The research method used is Quasy experimental with the research design used is the Non-Equivalent control group design. The research was conducted on students of class XI IPA at one of the Kab. Indramayu (n=60). The findings of the implementation of the QUEST model learning syntax in the experimental class as a whole have been carried out well. The results showed that the information literacy and mastery of students' concepts between the control class and the experimental class differed significantly. In the experimental class increased information literacy (N-Gain = 0.71) in the high category and mastery of concepts (N-Gain = 0.50) in the medium category, while in the control class consecutively (N-Gain = 0.38 and N -Gain = 0.43) which is in the low category. In addition, students' responses to the application of the QUEST model of biology learning using Socioscientific Issues can be said to be good, students show positive responses. So that in general students can feel the benefits of learning, especially being able to improve information literacy and mastery of concepts for high school students Keywords: QUEST Model Learning, Socioscientific Issue, Information Literacy, Concept Mastery.
