Abstract

This study aims to examine how digital storytelling enhances student engagement and learning performance. Seventh-grade students of Junior High School in Bandung participated in this study. This research combines both qualitative and quantitative methods to gather data using the Classroom Action Research design to investigate the effects of a specific intervention in a classroom setting. The result of the study found that the use of digital storytelling (storyjumper) is a way to support students in EFL classes to speak. It helps students to speak fluently, particularly in pronunciation and vocabulary, encouraging creativity and imagination in the learning process, particularly in speaking English and boosting students' confidence in speaking English. Therefore, the use of digital storytelling (storyjumper) supported students in speaking learning activities in the classroom. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji bagaimana digital storytelling meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa dan kinerja belajar. Siswa kelas tujuh Sekolah Menengah Pertama di Bandung berpartisipasi dalam penelitian ini. Penelitian ini menggabungkan metode kualitatif dan kuantitatif untuk mengumpulkan data menggunakan desain Penelitian Tindakan Kelas untuk menyelidiki efek dari intervensi tertentu dalam pengaturan kelas. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa penggunaan digital storytelling (storyjumper) adalah cara untuk mendukung siswa di kelas EFL untuk berbicara. Ini membantu siswa untuk berbicara dengan lancar, terutama dalam pengucapan dan kosa kata, mendorong kreativitas dan imajinasi dalam proses pembelajaran, terutama dalam berbicara bahasa Inggris dan meningkatkan kepercayaan diri siswa dalam berbicara bahasa Inggris. Oleh karena itu, penggunaan digital storytelling (storyjumper) mendukung siswa dalam kegiatan pembelajaran berbicara di kelas.
