Abstract

Perilaku phubbing kini tengah menjadi fenomena yang sering terjadi pada kehidupan modern saat ini. Perilaku ini erat kaitan nya dengan tingginya penggunaan internet. Sejak Januari sampai dengan Juni 2022, APJII melaporkan bahwa tingkat penetrasi internet di Indonesia didominasi oleh rentang usia 13-18 tahun dengan persentase 99,16%. Fenomena ini mampu menjadi permasalahan baru pada masyarakat modern khususnya dalam bidang pendidikan, mengingat seorang siswa seharusnya mampu untuk berinteraksi dengan lingkungannya untuk dapat melatih kemampuan kecerdasan sosialnya agar mampu memiliki rasa peka terhadap permasalahan yang ada pada lingkungan sekitar. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui dampak perilaku phubbing pada kemampuan kecerdasan sosial siswa SMP Negeri 7 Bandung. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional. Penelitian ini melibatkan sebanyak 171 peserta didik sebagai sampel dengan teknik proportional random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan yang digunakan pada penelitian ini menggunakan kuesioner. Pengujian hipotesis dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode korelasi Rank Spearman. Hasil penelitian menunjukan nilai sig. 0.000 < 0.05 maka Ho ditolak Ha diterima yang artinya terdapat pengaruh perilaku phubbing terhadap kemampuan kecerdasan sosial siswa. Selanjutnya didapatkan nilai koefisien korelasi sebesar -300 yang artinya terdapat pengaruh antara kedua variabel pada kategori rendah dengan arah berbanding terbalik. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa semakin tinggi perilaku phubbing siswa maka akan berbanding terbalik dengan kemampuan kecerdasan sosial siswa. Kemudian didapatkan bahwa aspek kecerdasan sosial yang paling terpengaruh oleh perilaku phubbing adalah indikator kepedulian, sedangkan indikator presentasi diri merupakan aspek yang sangat tidak terpengaruh oleh perilaku phubbing. Phubbing behavior is now becoming a phenomenon that often occurs in today's modern life. This behavior is closely related to the high use of the internet. From January to June 2022, APJII reported that the internet penetration rate in Indonesia was dominated by the age range of 13-18 years with a percentage of 99.16%. This phenomenon is capable of becoming a new problem in modern society, especially in the field of education, considering that a student should be able to interact with his environment to be able to train his social intelligence skills so that he is able to have a sense of sensitivity to problems that exist in the surrounding environment. This research was conducted to determine the impact of phubbing behavior on the social intelligence abilities of students of SMP Negeri 7 Bandung. The approach used in this study is a quantitative approach with correlational methods. This study involved 171 students as a sample with a proportional random sampling technique. The collection technique used in this study used a questionnaire. Testing the hypothesis in this study using the Rank Spearman correlation method. The results of the study show the sig. 0.000 <0.05 then Ho is rejected Ha is accepted which means that there is an influence of phubbing behavior on students' social intelligence abilities. Furthermore, a correlation coefficient value of -300 is obtained, which means that there is an influence between the two variables in the low category with the direction inversely proportional. This proves that the higher the student's phubbing behavior, the inversely proportional to the ability of students' social intelligence. Then it was found that the aspect of social intelligence that is most affected by phubbing behavior is an indicator of concern, while the self-presentation indicator is an aspect that is not very affected by phubbing behavior.
