Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh keberadaan budaya Indonesia salah satunya makanan tradisional Sunda yang harus tetap dikembangkan dan dilestarikan secara turun temurun. Era globalisasi berpengaruh pada perubahan budaya masyarakat Indonesia. Saat ini anak-anak lebih menyukai makanan budaya produk luar negeri seperti kentaki, burger, spageti, dibandingkan dengan makanan tradisional Indonesia termasuk di wilayah Majalengka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran orang tua dalam mengenalkan makanan tradisional Sunda pada anak usia dini, yang terdiri daripengetahuan orang tua, cara pengenalan, dan aspek makanan tradisional Sunda yang dikenalkan orang tua pada anak secara turun temurun sebagai bentuk pelestarian budaya Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei dengan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif. Sumber data yang digunakan berasal dari orang tua yang mempunyai anak usia 4-6 tahun sebagai responden dengan menggunakan instrumen berupa angket kuesioner. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pengetahuan orang tua 90% mengetahui makanan tradisional Sunda dan 55% orang tua pernah menyajikan makanan Sunda dalam hidangan sehari-harinya, frekuensi terbanyak mengenai cara orang tua mengenalkan makanan tradisional Sunda dalam kategori Selalu (SL) yaitu 42% orang tua selalu menghidangkan makanan tradisional Sunda dalam hidangan sehari-hari, dan aspek makanan tradisional Sunda yang paling banyak dikenalkan pada anak yaitu aspek nama dan bentuk sebanyak 78%. Hasil dari upaya yang dilakukan orang tua dalam mengenalkan makanan tradisional Sunda di Desa Payung Kecamatan Rajagaluh Kabupaten Majalengka, sebanyak 63% anak menyukai makanan tradisional Sunda seperti makanan yang banyak disukai anak yaitu nasi liwet, oreg tempe, sayur asem, sorabi, dan bubur lemu. Dengan demikian orang tua memiliki peran dalam memperkenalkan makanan tradisional Sunda pada anak. ----- The presence of Indonesian culture, one of which is traditional Sundanese food, which must be cultivated and conserved from generation to generation, motivates this research. Globalization has had a significant impact on Indonesian society's cultural developments. Children in the Sumedang district, for example, prefer foreign cultural cuisine products such as kentaki, burgers, and spaghetti than traditional Indonesian food at this time. The purpose of this study is to determine the role of parents in introducing Sundanese traditional food to children in their early childhood, which includes parental knowledge, introduction methods, and aspects of Sundanese traditional food introduced by parents to children from generation to generation as a means of preserving Indonesian culture. The findings revealed that 90% of parents had knowledge of Sundanese traditional food and 55% of parents served Sundanese food in their daily dishes. The highest frequency of how parents introduced Sundanese traditional food was in the Selalu (SL) category, with 42% of parents serving it on a regular basis. Sundanese traditional cuisine is included in daily dishes, and components of Sundanese traditional food that are most often presented to young people are as much as 78% of the time. According to the Result of parents' efforts in introducing Sundanese traditional meals in Payung Village, Rajagaluh District, Majalengka Regency, as many as 63% of children appreciated Sundanese traditional foods such as liwet rice, oreg tempeh, vegetable tamarind, sorabi, and lemu porridge. As a result, parents play an important role in imparting Sundanese traditional food to their children.
