Abstract

Dalam Permendiknas Nomer 16 tahun 2007 tentang Standar Kualifikasi dan Kompetensi Guru, menyatakan bahwasannya seorang guru mata pelajaran di tingkat SMP harus memiliki kompetensi profesional, yakni menguasai materi pelajaran pada bidang yang diampunya. Sekaitan dengan hal tersebut, penelitian ini berupaya untuk mengetahui tingkat kemampuan kognitif atau kompetensi profesional mahasiswa calon guru PAI dalam penguasaan materi PAI & Budi Pekerti di jenjang SMP. Hal ini penting untuk diketahui, karena pada dasarnya mahasiswa calon guru PAI kelak akan menjadi guru yang mengajar di sekolah. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan metode deskriptif survey, penelitian ini fokus pada kajian deskriptif tentang penguasaan mahasiswa calon guru PAI terhadap materi mata pelajaran PAI & Budi Pekerti di jenjang SMP. Data penelitian dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan instrumen tes yang mengukur penguasaan materi ajar PAI SMP berdasarkan kurikulum 2013. Instrumen tes dibuat dalam bentuk pilihan ganda sebanyak 43 Item. Instrumen tersebut disebar melalui google form pada sampel penelitian sebanyak 71 responden dari total 185 populasi mahasiswa calon guru PAI angkatan 2018 dan 2019. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa tingkat penguasaan mahasiswa terhadap materi PAI & Budi Pekerti di jenjang SMP berada pada kategori baik. Adapun rekomendasi berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini yaitu dapat dijadikan sebagai referensi dan bahan pertimbangan untuk lebih meningkatkan pemahaman mahasiswa calon guru PAI terhadap materi PAI & Budi Pekerti di jenjang SMP dengan memperbaiki faktor-faktor yang kurang. Kata Kunci: Kompetensi Profesional, Profesionalisme Guru, Pendidikan Agama Islam, Guru PAI, Mahasiswa Calon Guru PAI In Permendiknas No. 16 of 2007 concerning Teacher Qualification and Competency Standards, it is stated that a subject teacher at the junior high school level must have professional competence, namely mastering the subject matter in the field he is teaching. In this regard, this study seeks to determine the level of cognitive ability or professional competence of prospective PAI teacher students in mastering PAI & Budi Pekerti material at the junior high school level. This is important to know, because basically the prospective PAI teacher students will become teachers who teach in schools. By using a quantitative approach and a descriptive survey method, this research focuses on a descriptive study of the mastery of prospective Islamic education teacher students on the subject matter of Islamic Education & Budi Pekerti at the junior high school level. The research data was collected using a test instrument that measures the mastery of PAI SMP teaching materials based on the 2013 curriculum. The test instrument was made in the form of multiple choice as many as 43 items. The instrument was distributed via google form to the research sample as many as 71 respondents from a total of 185 student population of prospective PAI teachers batch 2018 and 2019. The results of this study indicate that the level of student mastery of PAI & Budi Pekerti material at the junior high school level is in the good category. The recommendations based on the results of this study can be used as references and considerations to further improve the understanding of prospective PAI teacher students on PAI & Budi Pekerti material at the junior high school level by improving the factors that are lacking.
