Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh hasil kajian literatur dan fakta di lapangan mengenai kurangnya kemampuan membaca permulaan, untuk mengatasi hal tersebut diperlukan upaya meningkatkan kemampuan membaca permulaan. Salah satunya yaitu belajar membaca permulaan menggunakan aplikasi edukasi MARBEL Membaca. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui efektivitas aplikasi edukasi MARBEL Membaca terhadap kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa dan mengetahui perbedaannya dengan buku Bacalah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan ialah Kuasi Eksperimen dengan the non-equivalent-control-group design. Populasi yang diambil, yaitu siswa kelas I SDN Pasirlayung 03, dengan sampel dua kelas yang berbeda di satu sekolah yang sama yaitu delapan siswa kelas 1A dan delapan siswa kelas 1B. Hasil analisis data pretest dan posttest kelas eksperimen menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa kelas I SD dengan menggunakan aplikasi edukasi MARBEL Membaca. nilai rerata hasil posttest di kelas kontrol sebesar 5,38 sedangkan kelas eksperimen nilai rerata hasil posttest yaitu sebesar 6,75. Selisih rerata kedua kelas tersebut 1,12. Hasil analisis data kedua kelas yaitu kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaaan antara aplikasi edukasi MARBEL Membaca dengan buku Bacalah dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa tetapi peningkatan nilanya tidak terlalu jauh. ----- This study was motivated by the results of a literature review and facts in the field regarding the lack of early reading skills. To overcome this, efforts are needed to improve early reading skills. One of them is learning to read early using the MARBEL Membaca educational application. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the MARBEL Membaca educational application on students' beginning reading skills and to find out the difference with the Bacalah book. The research method used was Quasi Experiment with the non-equivalent-control-group design. The population taken was first grade students of SDN Pasirlayung 03, with a sample of two different classes in the same school, namely eight students of class 1A and eight students of class 1B. The results of the pretest and posttest data analysis of the experimental class showed an increase in the initial reading ability of grade I elementary school students by using the MARBEL Reading educational application. the average value of the posttest results in the control class was 5.38 while the experimental class had an average value of the posttest results of 6.75. The difference between the means of the two classes is 1.12. The results of the data analysis of the two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class, show that there is a difference between the MARBEL Membaca educational application and the Bacalah book in improving students' beginning reading skills but the increase in value is not too far.
