Abstract
Pandemi Covid-19 teleh memberikan suatu pembatasan aktifitas masyarakat dalam berbagai bidang termasuk bidang pendidikan karena penyebarannya yang begitu cepat ke seluruh negara di dunia termasuk Indonesia. Membangun karakter telah menjadi tujuan umum dalam pendidikan dan pembangunan warga negara baik di Indonesia, baik sebelum, sesaat, maupun setelah pandemi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan mengkaji konsep, strategi, implementasi, dan upaya menghadapi kendala-kendala dalam membangun karakter tanggung jawab dan sikap demokratis peserta didik pada masa pandemi covid-19. Pada proses pendidikan, membangun karakter sangat penting terutama membangun karakter tanggung jawab dan sikap demokratis peserta didik yang senantiasa mendapatkan tantangan sebelum pandemi dan saat pandemi Covid-19 berlangsung di Indonesia. Pada penelitian ini, peneliti melaksanakan penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus yang dlaksanakan di SMPN 5 Kota Tasikmalaya. Proses pengumpulan data penelitian dilakukan dengan observasi, wawancara, studi dokumentasi, dan perekaman. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan mereduksi data, display data, verifikasi dan penarikan kesimpulan dengan metode triangulasi. Pada penelitian ini, penelitian mendapatkan bahwa SMPN 5 Kota Tasikmalaya membangun karakter tanggung jawab dan sikap demokratis peserta didik melalui dua program, yaitu Program Nelitas Rindu yang berupa lima nilai utama pendidikan karakter di SMPN 5 Kota Tasikmalaya yaitu Religius, Integritas, Nasionalis, Dinamis, dan Unggul. Kemudian selain Program Nelitas Rindu, membangun karakter tanggung jawab dilaksanakan melalui program pembelajaran PPKn yang berlandaskan pembangunan Profil Pelajar Pancasila, Literasi, dan Digital Literasi melalui pembelajaran luring maupun daring. The covid-19 pandemic has provided a restriction on community activities in various fields including education because of its rapid spread to all countries in the world, including Indonesia. Building character has become a common goal in education and citizen development both in Indonesia, before, during, and after the pandemic. This study aims to analyze and examine concepts, strategies, implementations, and efforts to deal with obstacles in building students’ character of responsibility and democratic attitudes during the covid-19 pandemic. In the education process, character building is very important, especially building the character of responsibility and democratic attitude of students who always get challenges before and during the covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia. In this study, researchers carried out research using a qualitative approach with a case study method which was carried out at SMPN 5 Kota Tasikmalaya. The process of collecting research data was carried out by observation, interviews, documentation studies, and recording. Data analysis techniques were carried out by reducing data, displaying data, verifying, and drawing conclusions using the triangulation method. In this research, the researchers found that SMPN 5 Kota Tasikmalaya builds the character of responsibility and democratic attitudes of students through two programs, namely the Nelitas Rindu program which consists of five main values of character education at SMPN 5 Kota Tasikmalaya, namely Religious, Integrity, Nationalist, Dynamic, and Excellent. Then in addition to the Nelitas Rindu program, building the character of responsibility and democratic attitude is carried out through a civics learning program based on the development of the Pancasila student profile, literacy, and digital literacy through offline and online learning.
