Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh hasil kajian literatur dan fakta di lapangan mengenai kurangnya pemahaman konsep operasi bilangan pada siswa. Terutama konsep perkalian pada siswa kelas II sekolah dasar. Selaras dengan itu, maka rumusan masalah pada penelitian ini yaitu apakah terdapat peningkatan pemahaman perkalian terhadap siswa sekolah dasar dan apakah terdapat perbedaan pemahaman perkalian yang menggunakan model MNR dengan model pembelajaran langsung. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas model Matematika Nalaria Realistik terhadap pemahaman perkalian siswa dan mengetahui perbedaan model Matematika Nalaria Realistik (MNR) dengan model Pembelajaran Langsung dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep perkalian siswa kelas II sekolah dasar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Kuasi Eksperimen dengan the non-equivalent-control-group design. Populasi yang diambil adalah siswa kelas II SDN Parakanmuncang III, dengan sampel dua kelas yang berbeda di satu sekolah yang sama. Hasil penelitian mendapati nilai pretest dan posttest kelas eksperimen yang menunjukkan adanya peningkatan nilai rerata sebesar 23,92. Yang pada awalnya nilai pretest sebesar 53,91 menjadi 77,83 pada saat postest, sehingga menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman perkalian pada siswa. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model MNR dapat dijadikan sebagai salah satu model pembelajaran yang efektif terutama dalam materi operasi bilangan yang menggunakan daya nalar, yaitu seperti operasi hitung perkalian. ----- This research is motivated by the results of a literature review and facts in the field regarding the students' lack of understanding of the concept of number operations. Especially the concept of multiplication in grade II elementary school students. In line with that, the formulation of the problem in this study is whether there is an increase in understanding of multiplication for elementary school students and whether there is a difference in understanding of multiplication using the MNR model with the direct learning model. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the Realistic Reasoning Mathematical model on students' understanding of multiplication and to find out the differences between the Realistic Reasoning Mathematics (MNR) model and the Direct Learning model in improving the understanding of multiplication concept of second grade elementary school students. The research method used is Quasi Experiment with the non-equivalent-control-group design. The population taken is the second grade students of SDN Parakanmuncang III, with a sample of two different classes in the same school. The results of the study found that the pretest and posttest values of the experimental class showed an increase in the average value of 23.92. Initially, the pretest score was 53.91 to 77.83 at the post-test, thus indicating an increase in students' understanding of multiplication. Based on this, it can be concluded that the MNR model can be used as an effective learning model, especially in number operations that use reasoning power, such as multiplication arithmetic operations.
