    Abstract

    This study is aimed at investigating the correlation between students' foreign language aptitude and their English summative test scores. It was assumed that the students who are considered as those having good foreign language aptitude would have good scores in English summative test. In other words, there would be a significant relationship between students' foreign language aptitude and their English summative test scores.
    The study was conducted in the first grade students of SMA Negeri 14 Bandung involving two classes, X-H and X-C, in which the first class was used for trying out the instrument and the second class as the real sample. The descriptive method with ex post facto designs was used in this study.
    Having gathered the data needed, the computation of correlational testing showed that the value of correlation coefficient between students' foreign language aptitude and their English summative test scores is equal to .410. Based on the result, it was then concluded that there is a significant correlation between students' foreign language aptitude and their English summative test scores.
