Abstract

Komunikasi interpersonal merupakan proses interaksi yang dilakukan oleh dua orang atau lebih yang saling bertukar informasi untuk memenuhi kebutuhan hidupnya. Seiring berkembangnya teknologi, media sosial menjadi salah satu wadah dalam melakukan komunikasi interpersonal. Adanya teknologi seperti sosial media dapat menghapus hambatan dalam melakukan komunikasi interpersonal tanpa batas jarak,waktu dan umur. Berkaitan dengan fenomena tersebut, Penelitian ini membahas mengenai pengaruh media sosial terhadap komunikasi interpersonal pada anak usia sekolah dasar. Tujuan pada penelitian ini untuk mengetahui profil penggunaan media sosial pada anak usia sekolah dasar, profil komunikasi interpersonal sebagai dampak positif dan negatif dari media sosial, serta hubungan media sosial dengan komunikasi interpersonal. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu wawancara dan angket. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa profil penggunaan media sosial pada anak usia sekolah dasar dapat dilihat dari tiga aspek, yaitu aspek jumlah waktu, isi media dan hubungan media dengan individu. Kemudian ditemukannya pula adanya hubungan media sosial dengan komunikasi interpersonal. Penelitian ini diharapkan mampu memberikan pengetahuan serta meningkatkan kewaspadaan bagi guru dan orang tua dalam pengawasan penggunaan media sosial bagi anak usia sekolah dasar. ----- Interpersonal communication is an interaction process by two or more people exchanging information to meet their needs. As technology develops, social media has become a place for interpersonal communication. Technology such as social media, it can remove barriers to interpersonal communication without limits of distance, time and age. This study discusses the influence of social media on interpersonal communication in elementary school aged children. The purpose of this study was to determine the profile of the social media used in elementary school, the profile of interpersonal communication as a positive and negative impact of social media, and the relationship of social media with interpersonal communication. The method used in this research is a quanitative research approach with a desciptive design. Data collection techniques used in this study were interviews and questionnaires. The result of this study indicates that the profile of social media use at elementary school age can be seen from three aspects. That is an aspect of the amount of time, media content and media relations with individuals. There are positive and negative impacts of social media that affect interpersonal communication. Then it was also found that there was a relationship between social media and interpersonal communication. This research is expected to be able to provide knowledge and increase the awareness of teachers and parents in supervising the use of social media for elementary school.
