Abstract
Penelitian dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik dan ketidakmampuan untuk mengembangkannya. Keterampilan berpikir kritis adalah salah satu kompetensi aktual yang harus dimiliki peserta didik untuk keberhasilan belajar, bekerja dan hidup di abad ke-21. The Six Thinking Hats (Enam Topi Berpikir) yang diterapkan dalam bimbingan kelompok merupakan salah satu alternatif strategi layanan bimbingan dan konseling yang bertujuan mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Penelitian bertujuan merumuskan program hipotetik The Six Thinking Hats sesuai dengan gambaran keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik SMP/MTs di Jawa Barat Tahun Pelajaran 2020/2021. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan metode analisis deskriptif. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan instrumen tes keterampilan berpikir kritis yang dikembangkan oleh peneliti dan disesuaikan dengan perkembangan kognitif peserta didik tingkat sekolah menengah pertama yang mengacu pada teori Facione (2013) serta divalidasi oleh ahli bimbingan dan konseling. Hasil penelitian menggambarkan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik dalam kategori sedang. Program Hipotetik The Six Thinking Hats untuk mengembangan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik direkomendasikan diintegrasi dalam program bimbingan dan konseling disekolah. The background of this study was the low critical thinking ability of students and the inability to develop it. Critical thinking skills are one of the actual competencies that students must have for successful study, work and life in the 21st century. The Six Thinking Hats applied in group guidance are an alternative strategy for guidance and counseling services that aim to develop students' critical thinking skills. This study aims to formulate the Six Thinking Hats hypothesis program according to the description of the critical thinking skills of SMP/MTs students in West Java for the 2020/2021 academic year. The research approach used was quantitativem with descriptive analysis method. The research instrument used a critical thinking skills test instrument developed by researchers and adapted for cognitive development of junior high school students referring to Facione (2013) theory and validated by guidance and counseling experts. The results of the study described students' critical thinking skills in the medium category. The Hypothetical Six Thinking Hats Program to develop students' critical thinking skills is recommended to be integrated into the guidance and counseling program in schools.
