Abstract

Skripsi merupakan salah satu tugas akademik akhir yang dipandang sulit namun harus dipenuhi oleh mahasiswa dalam penyelesaian studinya. Mahasiswa perfeksionisme cenderung membuat standar tinggi yang menyebabkan kelelahan ketika adanya perbedaan antara apa yang dicapai dengan standar yang di buat. Dalam proses pembuatan skripsi berbagai hambatan dalam mengerjakan skripsi memungkinkan membuat mahasiswa mengalami academic burnout. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara perfeksionisme dengan academic burnout mahasiswa angkatan 2016-2017 yang sedang mengerjakan skripsi di FIP Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia dan implikasinya. Peneliti menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional dengan subjek 145 orang. Instrumen perfeksionisme disusun oleh peneliti berdasarkan teori perfeksionisme oleh Flett dan Hewitt (1991). Instrumen academic burnout yang disusun oleh peneliti berdasarkan teori academic burnout milik Schaufeli dkk (2002). Semua skala tersebut kemudian disesuaikan oleh peneliti dengan menyesuaikan dengan keadaan dari subjek. Data diperoleh melalui penyebaran instrumen berupa kuesioner yang diolah menggunakan uji Spearman’s Rank Order Correlation dengan nilai koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,299. Hasil penelitian tersebut menunjukkan; (1)gambaran perfeksionisme mahasiswa berada pada kategori sedang hingga tinggi; (2) gambaran tingkat academic burnout mahasiswa berada pada kategori sedang hingga tinggi (3) terdapat hubungan cukup kuat yang positif dan signifikan perfeksionisme dan academic burnout; Thesis is one of the final academic assignments that is considered difficult but must be fulfilled by college students in completing their studies. Perfectionist students tend to set high standards which lead to burnout when there is a discrepancy between what is achieved and the standard set. In the process of making a thesis, various obstacles in working on a thesis allow students to experience academic burnout. This study aims to determine the relationship between perfectionism and academic burnout of 2016-2017 college students who are working on a thesis at the FIP, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia and its implications for guidance and counselling. Researchers used a quantitative approach with correlational methods with 145 subjects. The perfectionism instrument was developed by the researcher based on the theory of perfectionism by Flett and Hewitt (1991). The academic burnout instrument compiled by the researcher is based on the academic burnout theory of Schaufeli et al (2002). All of these scales were then adjusted by the researcher by adjusting to the circumstances of the subject. Data was obtained through the distribution of instruments in the form of a questionnaire which was processed using the Spearman's Rank Order Correlation test with a correlation coefficient of 0.299. The results of the study show; (1) the picture of college student perfectionism is in the medium to high category; (2) the description of the level of college student academic burnout is in the medium to high category (3) there is a fairly strong positive and significant relationship between perfectionism and academic burnout.
