Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya pengetahuan masyarakat Desa Taraju terhadap upacara rewahan. Masyarakat tidak mengetahui arti dan ma’na yang terkandung dalam upacara rewahan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan: 1) sejarahupacararewahan di DesaTaraju, 2) pelaksanaanupacararewahan, 3) unsursemiotikdalamupacararewahan, dan 4) hasilpenelitianuntukbahanpembelajaranmembacaartikelbudaya di SMA. Metode yang digunakandalampenelitianiniadalahdeskriptifkualitatif, denganmenggunakantekhnikobservasi, wawancara, dandokumentasi. Instrumen yang digunakanpadapenelitianiniadalahhandycam, kameradigital, danpedomanwawancara. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwasejarahupacararewahandiadakandaritaun 1417 H, karena Rama EyangSunanManyakmeninggalpadatanggal 15 Rewah 1417 Hijriah, olehsebabitusetiaptanggal 15 Rewahdiadakanupacararewahan. Pelaksanaanupacararewahandimulai dengan menyembelihkambingsebagainazarmasyarakatDesaTaraju, dilanjutkandengando’abersama, sebagaipenutupdiadakanmakanbersamadanmembagikanberekatkepadamasyarakat yang ikutdalamupacaraini. Upacararewahanterdapat 56 unsursemiotikyang yangterdiridari 6 ikon, 8indeks, dan 42simbol.Unsursemiotiktersebutterdapatpadawaktupelaksannaan, tempatpelaksaan, perlengkapanupacara, dansesajen. Hasilpenelitianinidapatdigunakansebagaibahanpembelajaranmembacaartikelbudaya di SMA kelas XII. Selain itu, diharapkandapatmenambahpengetahuan, danmasyarakatmerasabanggaterhadapkebudayaan yang ada di lingkungansekitarnya. MasyarakatSundaharusbersama-samamenjagadanmelestarikankebudayaan yang ada di tatarSunda, agar terjagadantetaphiduptakterkalahkanolehjaman Kata Kunci: unsursemiotik, upacararewahan, bahanpembelajaran membaca Abstract : This research was based on the less of knowledge of societies about rewahan ceremony in Taraju village. They did not know the meaning and the purpose of this ceremony. This research aims to know the description of Sundanese culture in this period and knowledge about culture around Sunda. The method used in this research was descriptive qualitative, used the techniques of observation, interviews, and documentation. The instrument used in this research was handycam, digital camera, and interview guides. The results showed that the history of the rewahan ceremony has held rewahan since 1417 H, because Rama Eyang Sunan Manyak died on 15 Rewah 1417 Hijriah, therefore in each 15th ceremony is held Rewah ceremony. Implementation of rewahan ceremony begins by slaughtering goat as vow of Taraju villagers, followed by a prayer together, eating together as a closing is held and distributes berekat to society who participated in this ceremony. In the rewahan ceremony, there are 56 semiotic elements consisting of 6 icons, 6 indexs, and 44 symbols. The semiotic elements contain time of implementation, a place of implementation, ritual instruments, and ritual offerings. The results of this research can be used as learning material of reading culture articles in XII grade of senior high school.
