Harun Abdul Rohman, - (2021) ANALISIS TINGKAT BERPIKIR GEOMETRI SISWA SEKOLAH MENENGAH PERTAMA MELALUI TOPIK SEGIEMPAT MENURUT TEORI VAN HIELE. S2 thesis, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia.
Abstract
deskripsi proses berpikir geometri setiap levelnya berupa aspek mengidentifikasi,
secara umum.;
This study aims to describe the level of geometric thinking and geometric thinking
processes of junior high school students according to van Hiele's level of thinking on the
topic of quadrilaterals. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method
by testing the Van Hiele Geometry Test (VHGT) which was adapted from the CDASSG
Usiskin and conducting interviews about the thinking process in the form of identifying,
defining, and classifying which was adapted from the interview guide of Burger and
Shaughnessy (1986). The subjects of this study were 297 grade VII and VIII students
from two schools located in Lembang sub-district. The results of the study show that the
students of grades VII and VIII are spread out at the previsualization level and van Hiele's
thinking level, namely level 0 (visualization) and level 1 (analysis) . The results of the
VGHT test showed that the students at the previsualization level, level 0, and level 1 were
as follows: 1) have been able to recognize the types of quadrilaterals, but are still affected
by prototypes, 2) students have not been able to classify quadrilaterals, and 3) level 1
students have not been able to understand the properties of angles and diagonals on a
rhombus and the similarity of properties between kites and rhombus. Overall, the
description of the geometric thinking process at each level is in the form of identifying,
defining aspects, and classify in accordance with the characteristics of van Hiele's
thinking in general.
