Abstract

Pecahan desimal merupakan salah satu materi yang diajarkan di sekolah dasar dan juga merupakan materi yang penting dipelajari untuk mendukung pemahaman matematika tingkat selanjutnya. Namun pada kenyataannya, materi pecahan desimal kurang disampaikan secara mendalam sehingga masih ditemukan kesulitan dan kesalahpahaman pada peserta didik. Maka perlu suatu instruksi yang dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran memahami konsep pecahan desimal terkhusus pada tingkat sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang bahan ajar pada pembelajaran bilangan pecahan desimal yang bermakna dengan menggunakan pendekatan realistic mathematics education. Design research digunakan sebagai metode penelitian untuk mencapai tujuan penelitian. Pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu tes untuk mengungkap pengetahuan awal matematika, kuesioner untuk validasi, serta observasi pada saat uji coba pengajaran. Uji coba pengajaran dilakukan dalam dua siklus dan melibatkan 18 peserta didik kelas IV SDN 1 Urug Kota Tasikmalaya. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa, 1) materi pecahan desimal yang disajikan dalam buku teks memerlukan tambahan materi untuk memperdalam pemahaman konsep; 2) peserta didik belum begitu memahami pecahan desimal; 3) bahan ajar yang dirancang terdiri dari dua pertemuan masing-masing memiliki lima kegiatan; serta 4) bahan ajar yang dirancang dinilai layak oleh validator; dan 5) mampu membantu peserta didik memahami penulisan pecahan desimal dan nama bilangan pecahan desimal. Berdasarkan penelitian ini, peneliti merekomendasikan bahan ajar ini digunakan dalam pembelajaran awal materi pecahan desimal di sekolah dasar untuk memperdalam pemahaman peserta didik. Decimal fractions is one of the materials taught in elementary schools and is also an important material to be learned to support the understanding of advanced mathematics. But in reality, the decimal fraction is not learned in depth so that students still find difficulties and misunderstandings. Therefore, we need an instruction that can be used in learning to understand the concept of decimals fractions, especially at the elementary school level. The aim of this study is to design teaching materials for meaningful learning of decimal fractions using a realistic mathematics education approach. Design research is used as a research method to achieve research objectives. Tests, questionnaires for validation, and observation are used as data collection. The teaching experiment was conducted in two cycles and involved 18 fourth grade elementary school students. The results of this study showed that, 1) the decimal fraction material presented in the textbook requires additional material to deepen the understanding of the concept; 2) students did not really understand decimal fractions; 3) the designed teaching materials consist of two meetings each having five activities; and 4) the designed teaching materials are considered feasible by the validator; and 5) can help students understand how to write decimal fractions and understand the name of decimal fraction. Based on this research, the researcher recommends that this teaching material be used in the initial learning of decimal fractions in elementary schools to deepen students' understanding.
