Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masih rendahnya capaian hasil belajar ranah kognitif dan sikap kepedulian siswa terhadap lingkungan alam di sekitar mereka, yang diduga terjadi karena isu-isu lingkungan jarang diangkat dan diintegrasikan dalam proses pembelajaran IPA. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan gambaran tentang peningkatan kemampuan kognitif dan sikap peduli lingkungan siswa kelas V SD sebagai efek dari penerapan CBL terkait SSI pada pembelajaran IPA materi siklus air. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode pre-experiment dengan desain penelitian One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Waktu penelitian dilaksanakan pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2020/2021 dengan subjek penelitian sebanyak 39 siswa kelas V di salah satu SD Negeri yang berlokasi di Kecamatan Cileunyi Kabupaten Bandung. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan convenience sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes tertulis kemampuan kognitif dalam bentuk pilihan ganda dan uraian serta instrumen skala sikap peduli lingkungan. Perhitungan analisis data kuantitatif dilakukan dengan bantuan software SPSS Statistics 21 dan Microsoft Excel 2016. Hasil analisis data penelitian menunjukan terjadi peningkatan kemampuan kognitif siswa dalam kategori tinggi yang diindikasikan oleh skor N-Gain sebesar 0,74 dan peningkatan jumlah siswa yang memiliki sikap peduli lingkungan siswa dalam kategori tinggi yang diindikasikan oleh nilai %ΔM sekitar 70% sebagai efek penerapan model CBL terkait SSI. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa model CBL terkait SSI memiliki potensi yang cukup baik diterapkan dalam pembelajaran IPA yang berorientasi pada peningkatan kemampuan ranah kognitif dan sikap peduli lingkungan. Kata Kunci: Context Based Learning, kemampuan kognitif, sikap peduli lingkungan dan pembelajaran IPA di SD This research is motivated by the low achievement of learning outcomes in the cognitive domain and the attitude of students' concern for the natural environment around them, which is thought to occur because environmental issues are rarely raised and integrated in the science learning process. This study aims to obtain an overview of the improvement of cognitive abilities and environmental care attitudes of fifth grade elementary school students as the effect of implementing CBL related to SSI in the water cycle material. The research used is the pre-experiment method with One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. It was carried out in the even semester of the 2020/2021 with 39 students in one of the public elementary schools in Cileunyi District, Bandung Regency. The sampling technique used was convenience sampling. The instrument used test of cognitive ability and environmental care attitude scale instrument. Quantitative data analysis calculated with SPSS Statistics 21 software and Microsoft Excel 2016. The results of the research data analysis showed an increase in students' cognitive abilities in the high category indicated by an N-Gain score of 0.74 and an increase in the number of environmental care attitudes in the high category indicated by the %ΔM value of about 70% as an effect of implementing the CBL model related to SSI. This shows that the CBL model related to SSI has good potential to be applied in science learning which is oriented towards increasing cognitive abilities and environmental care attitudes.
