Abstract

Penelitian ini dibuat berdasarkan pada kajian teori yang menjelaskan bahwa faktor yang mempengaruhi prestasi belajar siswa itu ada banyak, salah satunya adalah kecerdasan emosional. Berdasarkan observasi lapangan ditemukan masalah yang terkait dengan kecerdasan emosional siswa, yaitu siswa yang kurang dapat menjalin hubungan dengan teman dan gurunya. Selain itu upaya yang dilakukan guru dalam mengembangkan kecerdasan emosional pada masa pandemi COVID-19 dirasa kurang maksimal. Maka dari itu tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan media buku harian sebagai upaya mengembangkan kecerdasan emosional pada siswa kelas 5 Sekolah Dasar. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah DnD (Design and Development). Tahapan yang dilakukan menggunakan tahapan yang dikemukakan oleh Rechey & Klein yaitu perencanaan, produksi dan evaluasi. Dimana dalam tahap evaluasi dilakukan dengan cara pemberian angket yang melibatkan beberapa ahli, mulai dari ahli bidang psikologi, ahli bidang media, ahli bidang seni, ahli bidang ke SD-an, dan guru. Dari angket tersebut kemudian data diolah dan dideskripsikan hasil saran serta kritiknya. Hal tersebut bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan produk dan memperbaiki produk. Produk yang dihasilkan pada penelitian ini adalah buku harian yang berjudul “Aku Anak Cerdas”. Materi yang ada pada buku harian berdasarkan pada aspek kecerdasan emosional. Perolehan nilai kelayakan dari media buku harian ini adalah 86% atau termasuk pada kualifikasi sangat baik (80%-100%). Kemudian pada penelitian ini juga dijelaskan mengenai hal yang perlu ditingkatkan dalam pengembangan media buku harian. This research was created based on a theoretical study explaining that there are many factors that influence a student’s academic performance, one of them being emotional intelligence. From the field observation, a problem was found regarding the students’ emotional intelligence, which is several students’ inability to create and maintain relationships with the teachers and fellow students. Other than that, there is also the problem of the teachers' inadequate effort in continuing the improvement of the students’ emotional intelligence during the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to develop a student diary as an effort to improve the students’ emotional intelligence, specifically 5th graders. The method used in this research is DnD (Design and Development). The steps done in this research are based on the steps proposed by Rechey & Klein, namely planning, production, and evaluation. For the evaluation step, a questionnaire was given to a psychology expert, a media expert, an art expert, an elementary academics expert, and a teacher. The data collected from the questionnaire were then processed, and the suggestions and the critics from the data were described. This was done to find out the sufficiency of the product, and as a way to improve it. The product created in this research is a student diary called “Aku Anak Cerdas”. The learning materials in this diary are based on the aspect of emotional intelligence. The sufficiency score of this diary is 86%, or qualified as very good (80%-100%). This research also explains the things needed to be improved from the diary.
