SELVIA KARTIKA (1600393)
Deaf children need a special PKPBI program to minimize the impact of
communication barriers and sound perception experienced and to optimize their
remaining hearing, so that they can develop optimally. The purpose of this study
was to determine the implementation of the PKPBI Special Program for Deaf
Children in Class II SDLB. The method used by the researcher is a qualitative
descriptive method, while the data is obtained through observation, interviews
and documentation studies. The research data are then analyzed, the data is
presented by drawing conclusions about the meaning of the collected data. The
research subjects were the teacher and two deaf children. The results of the study
show that the teacher prepares a plan starting with assessment activities. The
stages of PKPBI implementation start from the preliminary stage, the core stage,
and the closing stage. The test technique used is an action test and
observation. One of the factors that become obstacles in planning is that there are
no standard instruments in schools and the efforts of teachers to overcome these
obstacles, namely teachers form assessment teams in schools and arrange
assessment instruments at the beginning of the school year. Referring to the
conclusions of the study, it is recommended for teachers to be able to make
planned and targeted efforts to reduce the obstacles experienced by deaf children
and need to establish good communication with children's parents.
