Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh fenomena yang menunjukkan rendahnya empati siswa di sekolah sehingga jika diabaikan akan mendapatkan masalah sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan keefektifan antara teknik live model dan symbolic model dengan multiple model dan menguji efektivitas teknik modeling dalam bimbingan kelompok untuk meningkatkan empati siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Pangalengan. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan yaitu kuantitatif dengan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan nonequivalent control group design. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan purposive sampling. Partisipan penelitian berjumlah 30 siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Pangalengan tahun ajaran 2019/2020, 10 siswa pada kelompok eksperimen 1, 10 siswa pada kelompok eksperimen 2 dan 10 siswa pada kelompok kontrol. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa berdasarkan uji Mann Whitney terdapat perbedaan keefektifan teknik live model dan symbolic model dengan teknik modeling multiple model dalam bimbingan kelompok untuk meningkatkan empati siswa. Pengujian efektivitas dengan menggunakan uji Wilcoxon menunjukkan bahwa teknik modeling dalam bimbingan kelompok efektif untuk meningkatkan empati siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Pangalengan. The research is motivated by a phenomenon that showed low empathy of students in school even if ignored, they will get social problems. The study aims to determine the difference of the effectiveness between live models techniques and symbolic models with multiple modeling techniques and to test the effectiveness of modeling techniques in group guidance to improve the empathy of grade XI students at SMA Negeri 1 Pangalengan. The research approach used is quantitative with quasi-experimental method with the nonequivalent control group design. Sampling is done by purposive sampling. The study participants were 20 students of grade XI of SMA Negeri 1 Pangalengan in the 2019/2020 school year, 10 student in the experiment group 1, 10 student in the experiment group 2 and 10 student in the control group. The results showed that based on the Mann Whitney test there were differences in the effectiveness of live models techniques and symbolic models with multiple modeling techniques in the group guidance to improve the empathy. The Effectiveness testing used the Wilcoxon test shows that modeling techniques in a group guidance effective is to increase student empathy of grade XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Pangalengan.
