Abstract

Kata kunci: Minat baca, CIRC, mind mapping, bahasa Indonesia The students' low reading interest is a matter of concern. Especially in learning Indonesian which is considered by students to be monotonous and unattractive. Facing this case, the teacher must have the right strategy or method so that teaching and learning activities can achieve their goals. Therefore, the researcher provides a cooperative integrated reading and composition (CIRC) learning model and a mind mapping method to see the effect on students' reading interest in Indonesian learning. This research was conducted during the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus so that there were several adjustments at the time of the study. This research uses a quantitative approach to the experimental method. The research design used is a quasi experiment nonequivalent control group design. The data collection techniques were tests (pre test and post test), Likert scale questionnaire for students' reading interest, and non-participant observation. This research was conducted at SDN Pondokkaso Tonggoh in Parungkuda District, Sukabumi Regency. For the population and samples used classes V A and V B which are divided into control and experimental classes. Learning activities include cooperative learning to read and write then apply it to mind mapping. Data analysis used the Shapiro-Wilk test for normality, the Levene test for normally distributed data and the Mann Whitney test for abnormally distributed data. Then proceed with the Independent Sample T-test. Based on the results of the Independent Sample T-test analysis of the final questionnaire for the control class and experimental class, the sig value was obtained. 0.029 <0.05, it can be said that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. In addition, the t value obtained is 2.318 with Df 26 so that the t table value is 2.056. T count 2,318> t table 2,056 so it can be said that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. So it can be concluded that in general there is a significant difference in students' reading interest between the class using the lecture method (control class) and the class using the CIRC model and the mind mapping method (experimental class) after receiving treatment. In the experimental class the students are calmer than the control class, this makes the experimental class get better results than the control class.
