Abstract
Di masa era milenial ini, media sosial menjadi salah satu kebutuhan yang perlu dipenuhi. Penggunanya pun sudah merambah di kalangan anak sekolah dasar. Media sosial memfasilitasi pengguna untuk bebas mengekspresikan rasa melalui konten visual dan audio-visual. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui motif siswa sekolah dasar menggunakan media sosial, mengetahui bagaimana profil tulisan di media sosial dan bagaimana dampak penggunaan media sosial di kalangan anak sekolah dasar yang dikaitkan dengan keterampilan menulis. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode analisis konten. Sumber data didapatkan dari hasil angket, wawancara, dan pengamatan yaitu pengamatan aktifitas media sosial Instagram dan WhatsApp responden dan pengamatan hasil karangan sederhana yang pernah dibuat oleh responden saat di kelas. Teknik analisis data yangndigunakan yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu bahwa motif siswa menggunakan media sosial Instagram dan WhatsApp untuk berkomunikasi, bersosialisasi, menambah relasi, berbagi dan menggali informasi dan untuk rekreasi. Profil tulisan siswa di media sosial masih terdapat masalah atau kekeliruan pada penulisan ejaan, adanya fenomena ecrononciation dan ada lima kategori lainnya yang baru ditemukan. Untuk dampak terhadap keterampilan menulis, bagi pengguna yang aktif memiliki tata bahasa komunikatif dan efektif juga pandai dalam mengembangkan gagasan. Lawan tutur dalam bermedia sosial berdampak pada pemilihan kosa kata dan konten favorite dalam media sosial berdampak terhadap wawasan dalam penuangan ide tulisan. Edukasi melalui konten media sosial yang berunsur tata tulis dan kebahasaan dapat dijadikan salah satu upaya dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menulis siswa. ----- In this millennial era, social media is one of the needs that needs to be met. Its users have also penetrated among elementary school children. Social media facilitates users to freely express their feelings through visual and audio-visual content. This study aims to determine the motives of elementary school students using social media, to find out how the profile of writing on social media and how the impact of social media use among elementary school children is associated with writing skills. This study uses a qualitative approach with content analysis methods. Sources of data are obtained from the results of questionnaires, interviews, and observations, namely observations of respondents' Instagram and WhatsApp social media activities and observations of simple essays that have been made by respondents while in class. The data analysis technique used was data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results of this study are that the motives of students using social media Instagram and WhatsApp are for communicating, socializing, adding relationships, sharing and gathering information and for recreation. Students' writing profiles on social media still have problems or mistakes in spelling writing, the existence of the ecrononciation phenomenon and there are five other categories that were recently discovered. For the impact on writing skills, users who are active in having communicative grammar and are effective are also good at developing ideas. Opposition to speech in social media has an impact on the choice of vocabulary and favorite content on social media and has an impact on the insight in casting writing ideas. Education through social media content that has the elements of writing and language can be used as an effort to improve students' writing skills.
