Abstract
Latar belakang penelitian ini muncul dikarenakan berkembangnya stereotipe gender pada ranah pendidikan. Lembaga Studi dan Pengembangan Perempuan dan Anak menyebutkan bahwa materi yang ada pada bahan ajar yang dipakai di sekolah-sekolah masih belum mencerminkan adil gender. Atribut yang dibangun berdasarkan nilai atau sistem simbol telah memberikan sekat pada fungsi serta peran yang pantas dilakukan oleh anak laki-laki atau anak perempuan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dominasi gender dan ketidakadilan gender dalam teks cerita pada bahan ajar SD kelas VI semester 1 dengan mempertimbangkan karakteristik perkembangan gender pada anak. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu Analisis Isi. Subjek penelitian yaitu teks cerita pada bahan ajar SD (Buku Siswa Kelas VI SD/MI Semester 1 Kurikulum 2013 dengan penerbit Kementrian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Edisi Revisi 2018). Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dan pembahasan, teks cerita menunjukkan adanya dominasi pada salah satu gender. Proporsi dominasi gender tercermin melalui identitas dari ketetapan gender yang telah relevan dengan perkembangan anak usia kelas VI Sekolah Dasar. Kemunculan ketiga bentuk identitas gender didominasi oleh identitas gender feminin pada posisi pertama, androgini pada posisi kedua, serta maskulin berada pada posisi ketiga. Selain itu ditemukan pula kelima bentuk ketidakadilan gender yang tercermin dalam bunyi kalimat. Bentuk ketidakadilan gender tersebut meliputi kategori marginalisasi (peminggiran), subordinasi (penomorduaan), stereotipe (pelabelan), violence (kekerasan), serta double burden (beban kerja ganda). ----- The background of the study is emerged due to the development of gender stereotypes in education. LSPPA (Institute for Women and Children Development) that the content in the textbooks used by schools didn’t consider gender equity yet. Attributes that are built based on values or symbol systems have provided a barrier to the functions and roles that are appropriate for boys or girls. This study aims to analyze gender domination and gender inequality in story text at the 6th grade elementary school’s instructional materials 1st semester by considering the child’s characteristics gender development. This study used Content Analysis as the method. The subjects that used in this study is story text in elementary school’s instructional materials (6th grade elementary school’s student books 1st semester 2013 curriculum published by The Ministry of Education and Culture 2018 revised edition). Based on the result of data analysis, story text indicates the dominance of one gender. The proportion of gender domination is reflected through the identity of the gender constancy that are already relevant to 6th grade elementary school’s child development. The emergence of the three forms of gender identity is dominated by feminine gender identity in the first position, androgyny in the second position, and masculine in the third position. On the other hand, there are found five forms of gender inequality that reflected in the sentence of the text. The forms of gender inequality are marginalization, subordination, stereotype, violence, and double burden.
