Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan mengenai pentingnya pendidikan karakter yang dilakukan di sekolah dasar. Pendidikan karakter tersebut dapat melalui bahan ajar yang di dalamnya mengandung nilai karakter. Selain itu, terdapat anggapan bahwa teks narasi sejarah yang hanya dapat digunakan sebagai bahan ajar hafalan pada pembelajaran. Padahal hakikat dari teks narasi adalah bercerita, yang mana di dalamnya mempunyai unsur intrinsik makna, yang dapat merubah perilaku manusia. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi nilai-nilai karakter yang ada pada teks narasi sejarah di buku tematik kelas V SD berdasarkan Penguatan Pendidikan Karakter (PPK) yang dicetuskan Kemendikbud (2017a). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan desain penelitian analisis konten. Data yang akan digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dua belas teks narasi sejarah yang terdapat dalam sumber data buku tematik kelas V SD kurikulum 2013. Instrumen dari penelitian ini adalah indikator yang terdapat dalam PPK dari Kemendikbud (2017a), indikator teks narasi menurut Keraf (2010) dan tabel cek. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan teks narasi sejarah pada buku tematik kelas V SD memiliki nilai karakter berdasarkan PPK dari Kemendikbud (2017a). Kemudian, dalam unsur intrinsik makna pada semua teks narasi sejarah tersebut terdapat nilai karakter, sehingga semua teks narasi sejarah memiliki nilai karakter. Nilai karakter yang muncul pada teks narasi sejarah yakni religius, nasionalis, mandiri, gotong royong, dan integritas. Kelima nilai karakter tersebut mempunyai subnilai karakter sebanyak dua puluh subnilai. Subnilai yang tidak terkandung dalam teks yakni subnilai bersih, cinta lingkungan, dan kekeluargaan. ----- This research is backed by the problem of the importance of character education performed in elementary school. The character can be educating through a teaching material that contains character values. In addition, there is a notion that the historical narrative text can only be used as a memorization of teaching materials. Whereas the fact of the narrative text is storytelling, which in it has an intrinsic element of meaning, which can alter human behaviour. The purpose of this research is to identify the values of the characters that are in the text of the historical narrative in the fifth grade thematic book based on the Character Education Reinforcement (PPK) by Kemendikbud (2017a). This research uses qualitative research methods with the research design is content analysis. The data to be used in this study is twelve historical narrative texts contained in the fifth grade elementary school thematic book on curriculum 2013 as data source. The instrument of this research is indicator of the PPK by Kemendikbud (2017), narrative text indicators according to Keraf (2010) and the check table. The results of the study showed the historical narrative text on the fifth grade elementary school thematic books have character values based on the PPK by Kemendikbud (2017). Then, in the intrinsic element of meaning on all historical narrative texts there is a character value, so that all historical narrative texts have a character value. The value of the character appearing in the historical narrative texts is religious, nationalist, independent, mutual assistance, and integrity. The fifth value of the character has twenty character subvalue. Subvalues that are not contained in the text are sincere, love of the environment, and family sense.
