Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi dengan adanya hambatan belajar siswa pada konsep luas daerah persegi dan persegi panjang, hal ini terlihat dari hasil studi pendahuluan yang menunjukkan kesulitan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal terkait konsep luas daerah persegi dan persegi panjang. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis learning obstacles terkait luas daerah persegi dan persegi panjang pada siswa kelas IV Sekolah Dasar berdasarkan makna konsep yang terbentuk serta pengalaman siswa dalam memperoleh makna tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode fenomenologi hermeneutik dengan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif. Pelaksanaan penelitian dilakukan di salah satu SD Negeri di Kota Bandung dengan subjek penelitian berjumlah 35 orang, yang kemudian dilakukan strategi purposeful sampling sehingga dipilihlah enam orang siswa sebagai fokus penelitian dan bertindak sebagai partisipan dalam kegiatan wawancara. Selain siswa penelitian ini juga melibatkan seorang guru. Guru yang dipilih adalah guru kelas yang mengajar keseluruhan siswa (35 siswa) sebelumnya. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah ditemukannya learning obstacles pada konsep luas daerah persegi dan persegi panjang yang meliputi : ontogenic obstacles, epistemological obstacles dan didactical obstacles.

Kata kunci : Learning Obstacles, Fenomenologi Hermeneutik, Luas Daerah Persegi dan Persegi Panjang.

ABSTRACT

This research was hold because of students’ learning obstacle on the concept of square and rectangle area, this thing seen from the result of preliminary research which shows students’ difficulty in completing questions related to square and rectangle area. The objective of this research was to analyze learning obstacle related to square and rectangle area on class IV students of elementary school based on the concept’s meaning which is formed also students’ experience in obtaining the meaning. The research method was hermeneutic phenomenology with qualitative approach. This place of the research was one of Bandung’s city elementary schools with the subject of the research was 35 students then purposeful sampling strategy was done, so that six students was chosen as the research focus and acted as participants in the interview. Besides of students this research also involve teacher. Teacher who was chosen is teacher class who previously taught all of the students (35 students). The learning obstacles were found on the concept of square and rectangle area which covers: ontogenic obstacles, epistemological obstacles, and didactical obstacles as the result of the research.
