Abstract

Salah satu kemampuan matematis yang perlu dicapai dalam pembelajaran matematika adalah kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Peneliti melihat adanya kesenjangan pada kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa secara keseluruhan dengan peraih mendali pada International Mathematical Oliympiad (IMO) 2019. Salah satu penyebabnya yaitu model pembelajaran yang diterapkan kurang maksimal untuk memahami konsep. Sehingga dalam pengembangan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa di Indonesia cenderung pada kategori rendah. Untuk itu perlu inovasi penggunaan model pembelajaran seperti model pembelajaran CORE yang menekankan pada siswa membangun pemahaman sendiri. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, Extending (CORE) terhadap peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa sekolah dasar. Selain itu peneliti juga ingin mengetahui pencapaian, peningkatan dan penerapan model pembelajaran CORE untuk kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode Pre Eksperimental dengan desain One Grup Pretest and Posttets pada 8 orang siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu tes tulis, observasi, dan wawancara. Data hasil temuan menunjukan bahwa sebelum diberi perlakuan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa berada pada kategori rendah, sedangkan setelah perlakuan berada pada tinggi dan sangat tinggi. Peningkatan yang terjadi sebesar 0,66 di kategori sedang. Hal ini memperlihatkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran CORE terhadap peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa. Hasil ini dilihat berdasarkan uji regresi linier sederhana, observasi, dan wawancara yang telah dilaksanakan. For this reason, it is necessary to innovate the use of learning models such as the CORE learning model which emphasizes students building their own understanding. This research was conducted to determine the effect of the Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, Extending (CORE) learning model on improving the mathematical problem solving abilities of elementary school students. In addition, researchers also want to know the achievement, improvement and application of the CORE learning model for mathematical problem solving abilities. The research was conducted using a pre-experimental method with the design of One Group Pretest and Posttets on 8 students. The instruments used were written tests, observations, and interviews. The data of the findings show that before being treated the students' mathematical problem solving abilities were in the low category, while after the treatment was at high and very high. The increase that occurred was 0.66 in the medium category. This shows that there is an effect of the CORE learning model on improving students' problem solving abilities. These results are seen based on simple linear regression tests, observations, and interviews that have been carried out.
