Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masih rendahnya kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa sekolah dasar sehingga diperlukan cara penyelesaiannya, yaitu dengan menerapkan suatu pendekatan yang mampu meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract (CPA) terhadap peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Metode peneltian ini menggunakan penelitian subjek tunggal atau Single Subject Research (SSR). Subjek penelitian merupakan 4 siswa kelas V SDN X. Instrumen pengumpulan data berupa soal tes pemahaman konsep dan lembar observasi yang dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif, analisis visual serta analisis data kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh pada meningkatnya kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa setelah menggunakan pendekatan Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract (CPA). Maka pendekatan yang dapat dijadikan sebagai alternatif untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan pada pembelajaran matematika salah satunya dengan menggunakan pendekatan Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract (CPA). This research is based on the low ability to understand the mathematical concepts of elementary school students so that it is necessary to solve it, namely by applying an approach that is able to improve the ability to understand the mathematical concepts of students. This research aims to determine the effect of concrete-pictorial-abstract (CPA) approach on improving students' mathematical concept comprehension skills. This method of research uses single subject research (SSR). The study subjects were 4 grade V students of SDN X. Data collection instruments in the form of concept comprehension tests and observation sheets analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques, visual analysis and qualitative data analysis. The results showed that there was an influence on the increasing ability to understand students' mathematical concepts after using the Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract (CPA) approach. Thus, the approach can be used as an alternative to improving the quality of education in mathematics learning one of them by using the Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract (CPA) approach.
