Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya pemahaman konsep siswa sekolah dasar khususnya pada mata pelajaran IPS hal tersebut berdasarkan pengamatan yang dilakukan peneliti pada saat kegiatan Pengenalan Lapangan Satuan pendidikan (PLSP) rendahnya pemahaman konsep ditimbulkan karena pembelajaran yang belum banyak melibatkan siswa aktif. sehingga siswa belum mampu menjelaskan kembali apa yang dia lihat dengan pengetahuan awal yang diterimanya Rumusan masalah secara umum yang akan dikaji: Bagaimana peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan model project and presentation? Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan model project and presentation.Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yakni dengan Pre -Eksperimen dengan bentuk desain one group pretest posttest design dengan subjek penelitian siswa kelas IV pada salah satu SD negeri di Kabupaten Karawang. Pengambilan subjek menggunakan single subject dan subjek berjumlah empat siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu tes uraian dan observasi. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, Kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa mengalami peningkatan. Berdasarkan hasil rata-rata N-Gain yaitu sebesar 0,86 dengan kategori tinggi. Dengan demikian, model pembelajaran project and presentation dapat diterapkan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep IPS siswa sekolah dasar kelas. This research is motivated by the lack of elementary school student concepts comprehension in Social Sciences learning. This is based on the observation at the Pengenalan Lapangan Satuan pendidikan caused by learning that has not involved many activie students, so students are still unable to explain what they see with the preliminary knowledge they receive. The formulation of research question which will be examined as follows: How to improve students social science concepts comprehension before and after using the project model ang presentation? This research aims to determine the enhance the improve to students social science concepts comprehension before and after using the project model ang presentation. The type of research used is the pre experiment with the form of the design of one group pretest posttest with research subjects of sixth grade students in one of the public elementary school in Karawang. Subject retrieval using single subject and subject number four students. The instruments used were written test and observation. Based on the analysis results, the project model and presentation gave a eshance. These results were seen based on the N-Gain test by 0.86 in high categories. Thus, the project learning model and presentation can be applied to improve the sixth grade elementary school students' social science concepts comprehension.
