Abstract
Pemahaman matematis merupakan dasar yang sangat penting dalam pembelajaran matematika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis ketercapaian kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa pada materi bangun ruang kelas V. Terdapat dua faktor penghambat yang menyebabkan rendahnya pemahaman matematis yaitu faktor internal dan eksternal. Skemp mengkategorikan dua macam pemahaman berdasarkan tingkat kemampuan siswa, yaitu pemahaman instrumental dan pemahaman relasional. Oleh sebab itu, peneliti ingin mengetahui pemahaman matematis siswa berdasarkan teori pemahaman Skemp dan faktor penghambatnya ditinjau dari kemampuan siswa. Metode yang digunakan yaitu penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 6 siswa kelas V. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan berupa tes tertulis kemampuan pemahaman matematis, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa 4 dari 6 siswa berada pada kategori pemahaman instrumental dan 2 siswa berada dalam kategori relasional maupun instrumental. Siswa sebaiknya lebih sering diberikan soal beragam yang dapat merangsang ide berpikir relasional agar mampu menyelesaikan masalah dengan pemahamannya. Sehingga minat, antusiasme siswa pada pelajaran matematika meningkat dan pengetahuan yang diperoleh menjadi optimal serta membuat pembelajaran lebih bermakna. Mathematical understanding is a very important basis in learning mathematics. This study aims to analyze the achievement of students' mathematical comprehension abilities in the material of building class V. There are two inhibiting factors that cause low mathematical understanding, namely internal and external factors. Skemp categorizes two kinds of understanding based on students' ability levels, namely instrumental understanding and relational understanding. Therefore, the researcher wants to know the students 'mathematical understanding based on Skemp's understanding theory and its inhibiting factors in terms of students' abilities. The method used is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The subjects of this study were 6 grade V students. The data collection techniques used were written tests of mathematical comprehension skills, interviews and documentation. The results showed that 4 out of 6 students were in the instrumental understanding category and 2 students were in the relational or instrumental category. Students should more often be given various questions that can stimulate relational thinking ideas so that they are able to solve problems with their understanding. So that the interest, enthusiasm of students in mathematics increases and the knowledge gained becomes optimal and makes learning more meaningful.
