Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi adanya perbedaan intensitas komunikasi siswa kelas V yang berprestasi di SDN Jomin Barat II dengan orang tua. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pola komunikasi yang diterapkan keluarga pada siswa berprestasi, komunikasi antara guru dengan orang tua, relevansi antara pola komunikasi di lingkungan keluarga dengan partisipasi siswa di kelas, dan perbedaan pola komunikasi keluarga pada siswa berprestasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus, 5 orang siswa sebagai subjek, Orang tua siswa serta wali kelas V. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa berprestasi kelas V SDN Jomin Barat II diterapkan pola komunikasi Authoritative Pluralistik dan pola Lazzes-Faire permissive oleh keluarganya. Strategi untuk membangun komunikasi antara guru dengan orang tua siswa adalah dengan melakukan home visit yang bertujuan untuk mencegah timbulnya masalah siswa di kelas serta mengembangkan kemampuan siswa tersebut. Pola komunikasi yang diterapkan di lingkungan keluarga memiliki keterkaitan dengan partisipasi siswa berprestasi dikelas, serta terdapat perbedaan pola komunikasi keluarga pada siswa berprestasi. This research is motivated by the difference in the intensity of communication between grade V student who excel at SDN Jomin Barat II. This research aimed to know how the communication patterns applied in top student’s families, parent-teacher communication, the relevance of communication patterns in a family with the participation of a student in a class, and the difference of communication patterns of the families to the top students. This research used a qualitative method with a case study, 5 students as subject, parents of student also the fifth-grade teacher. The techniques use for data collection are observations, interviews, and documentation. The result showed that the outstanding student of class V SDN Jomin Barat II, applied Authoritative Pluralistic communication patterns and permissive Lazzes-Faire patterns by his family. The strategy for building communication between the teacher and the parents is to do a home visit wich aims to prevent student problems in the classroom and develop students’ abilities. The communications pattern applied in the family environment is related to the participation of high achieving student in class, and there are differences in family communications patterns among outstanding students.
