Abstract

Koneksi matematis merupakan salah satu komponen penting yang harus dimiliki oleh siswa dalam belajar matematika. Pendekatan kontekstual digunakan sebagai cara alternatif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian eksperimen. Desain yang dipakai adalah penelitian subjek tunggal (single subject reseacrh) dengan menggunakan bentuk rancangan A-B-A. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 4 orang siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian intervensi berupa pendekatan kontekstual memberikan pengaruh terhadap kemampuan koneksi matematis. Pada tes kemampuan awal (baseline-1) subjek penelitian ke-1 mengalami kesalahan sebanyak 3 dari 5 soal di setiap sesi dan mendapatkan skor 40. Subjek penelitian ke-2 pun mengalami kesalahan sebanyak 3 dari 5 soal di setiap sesi dan mendapatkan skor 40. Subjek penelitian ke-3 mengalami kesalahan sebanyak 5 dari 5 soal di setiap sesi dan mendapatkan skor 0. Sementara untuk subjek penelitian ke-4 mengalami kesalahan sebanyak 4 dari 5 soal di setiap sesi dan mendapatkan skor 20. Sedangkan pada tes kemampuan akhir (baseline-2) ke-empat subjek penelitian mengalami kesalahan sebanyak 0 dari 5 soal dan mendapatkan skor 100. Efektivitas tersebut didukung oleh persentase overlap yang rendah yaitu 0%. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan pendekatan kontekstual berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa. Mathematical connection is one important component that must be possessed by students in learning mathematics. Contextual approach is used as an alternative way to increasing the students' mathematical connection abilities. The purpose of this research is to determine how the effect of contextual approach to students' mathematical connection. This research used the type of experimental research. The experimental design used a single subject research (single subject research) with the A-B-A design. Single subject design focuses on individual data as research samples. The subjects in this research were 4 students. The results showed in the time interventions, the contextual approach had a positive effect on the ability of students' mathematical connections. In the initial ability test (baseline-1) the first research subject experienced an error of 3 out of 5 questions in each session and got a score of 40. The second research subject also experienced errors of 3 out of 5 questions in each session and got a score of 40. The third research subject experienced errors of 5 out of 5 questions in each session and got a score of 0. While for the 4th research subject experienced errors of 4 out of 5 questions in each session and got a score of 20. While in the final ability test (baseline- 2) all four research subjects experienced errors of 0 out of 5 questions and got a score of 100. The effectiveness was supported by a low percentage of overlap which was 0%. So it can be concluded that the use of contextual approach affect the ability of students' mathematical connections.
