Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa tingkat sekolah dasar di Kecamatan Plered Kabupaten Purwakarta serta mendeskripsikan kesulitan peserta didik pada setiap indikator dalam penyelesaian soal tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah pada pembelajaran matematika berupa soal uraian untuk materi penjumlahan dan pengurangan pecahan. Penelitian yang dilaksanakan merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Subjek penelitian yang digunakan adalah 5 orang anak dari SDN Sempur kelas IV. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Juli 2020. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah soal tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan pedoman wawancara. Berdasarkan hasil jawaban peserta didik pada pemberian soal tes kemudian dilakukan wawancara secara mendalam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis kelas IV di SDN Sempur Kecamatan Plered Kabupaten Purwakarta yaitu siswa terbagi menjadi empat kategori. Siswa yang termasuk pada kategori sangat baik sebesar 80%, kategori baik sebesar 72%, kategori cukup sebesar 51% dan kategori kurang sebesar 24% dengan rata-rata total nilai akhir sebesar 55,6% yang termasuk kategori cukup. Dari hasil yang diperoleh tersebut masih ada siswa yang belum mencapai tahap melaksanakan perencanaan penyelesaian masalah dan pemeriksaan kembali jawaban dengan menarik kesimpulan dari hasil pemecahan masalah. This study is aimed to analyze the mathematical problem solving abilities of elementary school students in Plered Sub-district, Purwakarta Regency and to describe the difficulties of students according to each indicator in solving the test of mathematical problem solving ability in the form of description questions about addition and subtraction of fractions. The research carried out is a qualitative research with case study method. The research subjects used were 5 students grade IV of SDN Sempur. The research was conducted in July 2020. The research instruments were a test of problem solving ability and interview guidelines. Based on the results of the given test questions and the students' answers to the in-depth interviews conducted, it is showed that the level of mathematical problem solving ability of students grade IV at SDN Sempur, Plered Sub-district, Purwakarta Regency is divided into four categories. Students in the very good category are 80%, the good category are 72%, the moderate category are 51% and the poor category are 24% with an average total final score 55.6% which is in moderate category. From the results obtained, there are still students who have not yet reached the stage of carrying out planning for problem solving and re-examining answers by drawing conclusions from the results of problem solving.
