    Abstract

    Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi dari hasil pengamatan yang dilaksanakan di kelas V SDN Pangulah Selatan IV Kecamatan Kotabaru Kabupaten Karawang. Saat proses belajar mengajar peneliti masih menemukan hasil belajar siswa yang rendah. Itu terjadi karena siswa hanya menerima pembelajaran dari buku siswa melalui penyampaian guru kemudian dicatat kembali yang menjadikan siswa pasif dalam belajar. Itu semua menjadikan siswa kurang menggali pengetahuan secara luas dengan gejala sehari-hari. Hal-hal yang telah diungkapkan di atas perlu diperbaiki. Diantara pendekatan pembelajaran yang dianggap mampu meningkatkan aktivitas siswa dan hasil belajar siswa yaitu dengan menerapkannya pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning. Tujuan dari diterapkannya pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning untuk melihat apakah aktivitas siswa dan hasil belajar siswa meningkat. Selain itu untuk merubah ragam siswa dalam belajar agar lebih baik dan menyenangkan. Penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas, terdapat dua siklus dengan subjek 21 siswa. Instrument yang digunakan jenis tes hasil belajar. Yang ditemukan saat penelitian yaitu: aktivitas siswa meningkat siklus kesatu mencapai 63% pada siklus kedua mencapai 88%; hasil belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan pada siklus kesatu presentase mencapai 33% dan siklus kedua dengan presentase mencapai 86%. Dari hasil di atas dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa aktivitas siswa dan hasil belajar siswa meningkat setelah diterapkannya pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning.

    This research is motivated by observations carried out in class V SDN Pangulah Selatan IV Kotabaru District, Karawang Regency. When the teaching and learning process researchers still find low student learning outcomes. That happens because students only receive learning from student books throught the delivery of the teacher then recorded again which makes students passive in learning. It all makes students explore knowledge less broadly with daily symptoms. The things that have been disclosed above need to be corrected. Among the learning that is considered capable of increasing student activity and student learning outcomes is to apply the Contextual Teaching and Learning approach. The purpose of applying the Contextual Teaching and Learning approach is to see whether student activities and student learning outcomes increases. In addition to changing the variety of student in learning to be better and more fun. The research used is classroom action research, there are two cycles with 21 students subject. The instrument used is a atype of learning achievement test. What was found during the study were: student activity increased in the first cycle reaching 63% in the second cycle reaching 88%; student learning outcomes have increased in the first cycle the percentage reached 33% and the second cycle with a percentage reaching 86%. From the results above it can be concluded that student learning activities and student learning outcomes increase after the implementation of the Contextual Teaching and Learning approach.
