Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas tentang penggunaan metode COX dalam pembelajaran menyimak bahasa Perancis dengan tujuan: (1) Mendeskripsikan proses pembelajaran metode COX berdasarkan aktifitas peneliti dan aktifitas siswa, (2) mengukur tingkat kemampuan menyimak bahasa Perancis siswa setelah menggunakan metode COX dan (3) memperoleh informasi mengenai pendapat siswa tentang penggunaan metode COX dalam pembelajaran menyimak bahasa Perancis tingkat dasar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode pra-eksperimental dengan desain penelitian one shot case study. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah soal tes menyimak, lembar observasi pengajar dan siswa serta angket penelitian. Responden pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XII MA Arafah, Cililin Tahun Ajaran 2018/2019 yang berjumlah 20 orang. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat dikemukakan bahwa:(1) berdasarkan hasil perhitungan observasi, kemampuan peneliti dalam menerapkan metode COX diberi nilai sebesar 4,7 / 5, artinya peneliti dianggap telah melakukan penelitiannya sesuai dengan prosedur yang telah dirancang. Sedangkan aktivitas siswa dalam pembelajaran menyimak diberi nilai sebesar 4,1 / 5, artinya siswa telah mengikuti kegiatan belajar mengajar menyimak bahasa Perancis secara aktif, (2) berdasarkan hasil perhitungan tes, nilai rata-rata tes menyimak bahasa Perancis siswa setelah menggunakan metode COX, yakni sebesar 77,4 / 100 yang berada pada interval 76% - 85% dengan kategori baik, artinya responden dinilai mampu menyimak bahasa Perancis dengan baik, (3) berdasarkan hasil perhitungan angket, penggunaan metode COX dapat: memudahkan siswa (85%) dalam memahami dan merumuskan ide yang terdapat pada materi rekaman audio, terutama pada kegiatan experiencing dan sharing, membantu siswa (84,2%) menjadi lebih aktif dan berpikir kritis serta menumbuhkan rasa kerja sama tim dalam kelas dan sebanyak 85% siswa mengungkapkan bahwa belajar menyimak bahasa Perancis dengan menggunakan metode COX menjadi lebih menyenangkan. Melalui penelitian ini, penulis berharap bahwa metode COX dapat dijadikan salah satu metode alternatif untuk menunjang pembelajaran bahasa Perancis, khususnya keterampilan menyimak.; This study discusses the use of the COX method in learning to French listening comprehension. The objectives of this study were: (1) to describe the learning process of COX method based on researcher activities and student activities, (2) measuring the ability of students’ French listening comprehension after using the COX method and (3) obtaining information about student’s opinions about the usage of the COX method in learning French listening comprehension. The research method used in this study is a pre-experimental method with one shot case study design. The instruments used in this study were listening test questions, teacher and student observation sheets and research questionnaires. Respondents in this study were students of class XII MA Arafah, Cililin Academic Year 2018/2019 which amounted to 20 people. Based on the results of the study, it can be stated that: (1) based on the results of the calculation of observations, the ability of researchers to apply the COX method is given a value of 4.7 / 5, meaning that researchers are considered to have carried out research in accordance with the procedures that have been designed. While the activity of students in listening learning was given a value of 4.1 / 5, meaning that students had participated in teaching and learning French listening comprehension actively, (2) based on the results of test calculations, the average value of students’ ability to listen to French after using the COX method is equal to 77.4 / 100 which is in the interval of 76% - 85% with good categories, meaning that respondents are considered capable of listening to French well, (3) based on the results of questionnaire calculations, the use of COX method can: facilitate students (85%) in understand and formulate ideas contained in audio recording material, especially in experiencing and sharing activities, helping students (84.2%) become more active and critical thinking and foster a sense of teamwork in the classroom and as many as 85% of students reveal that learning is listening to language France using the COX method is more fun. Through this study, the authors hope that the COX method can be used as an alternative method to support French language learning, especially listening skills
