Abstract

Based on the observation in learning of civic education in the class VIII Junior High Schools 12 Bandung, researcher has identified some problems as: (1) a learning process was less varied, (2) the learning was more theoretical so that only cognitive dimension is in touch, (3) students did not brave to give an opinion and asked if they did not understand (4) students talked impressed not seriously and joked (5) lack of spirit and motivation of the students at learning of civic education. Accordingly, the aim of this study was to observe Question Student Have (QSH) method to improve learning participation of students. The research method used in this study was descriptive. Collecting data was obtained using interview, observation, likert scale, field notes and study documentation. The result of this research showed that 1) before QSH method was applied, students participation at pre-intervention was less 2) QSH demanded the teacher to set up group discussion, learning media, instructing the students to make a question and coming up critical thinking of students 3) applying strategy of Active Learning Type Question Student Have (QSH) could increase students involvement in learning such as asking, respecting, explaining, team-working, and understanding 4) the ability to increase student participation of the group was “ very good” and personally was “good” 5) The difficulty of directing student and long duration were the obstacle in applying QSH, Additionally, The while QSH to the efforts was learning strategy this cannot be done only once and need to allocate time.----------Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi dari hasil observasi pada pembelajaran Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan di Kelas VIII SMP Negeri 12 Bandung yang memiliki beberapa masalah antara lain: (1) Proses Pembelajaran yang kurang bervariasi, (2) Pembelajaran terkesan teoritis, (3) Siswa kurang berani berpendapat dan bertanya pada saat pembelajaran. (4) Siswa yang berani berbicara terkesan tidak serius dan bercanda. (5) Kurangnya semangat dan motivasi siswa. Maka berdasarkan masalah tersebut guru melakukan inovasi pembelajaran dengan strategi pembelajaran Active Learning tipe Question Student Have (QSH) untuk meningkatkan partisipasi belajar siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Pengumpulan data diperoleh dengan cara wawancara, observasi, Skala Likert, catatan lapangan dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa: 1) Gambaran umum partisipasi belajar sebelum diterapkan strategi pembelajaran kurang begitu baik, 2) Strategi QSH ini menuntut guru untuk mempersiapkan kelompok belajar, media pembelajaran, mengarahkan siswa membuat pertanyaan dan menumbuhkan berpikir kritis serta minat siswa. 3) Proses penerapan dalam strategi ini mampu menumbuhkan keterlibatan siswa dalam kegiatan pembelajaran seperti siswa aktif bertanya, berpendapat, menghargai pendapat orang lain, bekerjasama, dan memahami materi pembelajaran dengan baik. 4) Kemampuan peningkatan partisipasi belajar dapat dikategorikan “sangat baik” secara kelompok dan “baik”secara individual. 5) Sulitnya mengarahkan siswa dan membutuhkan waktu lama dalam pelaksanaanya, sedangkan QSH tidak bisa dilakukan hanya satu kali pertemuan dan perlu mengalokasikan waktu dengan baik.
