Abstract

Penelitian ini di latar belakangi oleh hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran ekonomi yang belum mencapai Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimum (KKM) ditunjukkan dengan rata-rata hasil Penilaian Tengah Semester (PTS) tahun pelajaran 2018/2019 SMA Negeri di Kota Cimahi. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh student engagement terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran ekonomi dengan iklim sekolah sebagai variabel moderasi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah survei eksplanatori dengan menggunakan kuesioner sebagai alat pengumpul data. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPS SMA Negeri di Kota Cimahi sebanyak 866 siswa. Dengan menggunakan teknik random sampling diperoleh sampel sebanyak 274 siswa. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah Analisis Regresi Berganda dengan Moderat Regression Analysis (MRA). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan : (i) Tingkat student engagement dan iklim sekolah berada pada kategori tinggi, sedangkan hasil belajar siswa memperlihatkan bahwa masih banyak siswa yang belum mencapai Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimum (KKM); (ii) Tingkat student engagement berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap hasil belajar; Iklim sekolah tidak memoderasi pengaruh student engagement terhadap hasil belajar karena merupakan variabel predictor. This research is motivated by student learning outcomes in economic subjects that have not yet reached the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM) shown by the average results of the Mid-Semester Assessment (PTS) 2018/2019 academic year in SMA Negeri in Cimahi City. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of student engagement on student learning outcomes in economic subjects with the school climate as moderating variable. The research method used was an explanatory survei using a questionnaire as a data collection tool. The population in this study was XI IPS students of SMA Negeri in Cimahi City as many as 866 students. By using random sampling technique, samples consist of 274 students were obtained. The data analysis technique used was Multiple Regression Analysis with Moderate Regression Analysis (MRA). The results showed: (i) The level of student engagement and school climate was in the high category, while student learning outcomes showed that there were still many students who had not reached the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM); (ii) The level of student engagement has a positive and significant effect on learning outcomes; School climate does not moderate the effect of student engagement on learning outcomes because it is a predictor variable.
