Abstract

Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh model problem based learning melalui metode debat terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada mata pelajaran ekonomi materi perdagangan internasional. Penelitian ini dilakukan di XI IIS SMA Negeri 22 Bandung. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan nonequivalent control group design. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan berupa tes tertulis berbentuk uraian. Hipotesis diuji menggunakan uji parametrik yaitu uji paired-sample t test dan independent-samples t test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (i) terdapat perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas eksperimen antara sebelum dan sesudah diberikan perlakuan dengan menggunakan model problem based learning melalui metode debat materi perdagangan internasional pada kategori tinggi; (ii) terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa antara kelas eksperimen yang diberi perlakuan model problem based learning melalui metode debat dengan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan metode ceramah dan tanya jawab. ;--- The problem in this research was the lack of student's critical thinking ability. The purpose of this research was to know the influence of problem based learning models through debate methods to student's critical thinking ability in international trading chapter of economics subject. This research taken place in Second Grade of Social Major in 22 Public High School of Bandung. This research used experimental quasi method with non equivalent control group design. The research's instrument used was essay writing test. The hypothesis was tested by parametric test trough paired-sample t test and independent-sample t test. The results of this research show that: (i) the was a difference between student's critical thinking ability in experimental class before and after given the treatment with problem based learning model trough debate method in international trading chapter was in high category; (ii) there was an enhancement difference of student's critical thinking ability between experimental class which given a treatment of problem based learning model through debate method and control class which was use lecture method.
