Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh mencuatnya isu radikalisme yang rentan tersebar di kalangan anak muda, terutama mahasiswa. Paham radikal yang negatif ini berbahaya, sehingga diperlukan adanya upaya penangkalannya. Salah satu elemen yang berperan strategis untuk penangkalan radikalisme tersebut adalah melalui peran pendidikan, terutama Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) di setiap jenjang pendidikan, termasuk perguruan tinggi. Pada jenjang ini bisa dilakukan melalui pengembangan kokurikuler, salah satunya kegiatan Tutorial PAI yang dikembangkan oleh Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI). Secara umum penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana peran Tutorial PAI dalam menangkal paham radikal keagamaan di Kampus UPI. Secara khusus tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan peran Penyelenggara, Pengurus, dan Tutor Tutorial PAI dalam menangkal paham radikal keagamaan di kalangan mahasiswa UPI. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain studi kasus dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara observasi, studi dokumentasi, wawancara, dan triangulasi. Serta teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan reduksi data, disply data, verifikasi dan kesimpulan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, ditemukan bahwa secara umum peran Tutorial PAI dalam menangkal paham radikal adalah membina mahasiswa muslim UPI, dengan menanamkan pemahaman tentang Islam yang toleran. Secara khusus ditemukan bahwa peran Penyelenggara Tutorial PAI dalam upaya menangkal paham radikal adalah dengan menyusun dan menyelenggarakan kebijakan untuk mensiasati tidak terdapatnya celah masuknya paham radikal. Lalu, peran Pengurus Tutorial PAI adalah sebagai pelaksana teknis, membantu mengatur kelancaran berjalannya Program Tutorial ke arah pengembangan deradikalisasi. Sementara peran Tutor Tutorial PAI adalah setelah melalui pembinaan terlebih dahulu oleh penyelenggara, turut menanamkan pemahaman tentang Islam toleran terhadap tutee-nya pada saat kegiatan tutoring kelompok. ;---This research is set against the backdrop of the emergence of radicalism issue that has a big potential to spread among the youth, particularly university students. Negative radical ideas are harmful; therefore, efforts to prevent their propagation are necessary. One of the elements that plays a strategic role in preventing radicalism is education, particularly Islamic Religious Education (PAI), which is provided at all levels of education, including at the university level. At this level, the efforts can be made through the development of co-curricular activities, such as the PAI tutorial activity that has been developed by Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI). In general, this reseach is aimed at identifying the role that PAI Tutorial plays in preventing religious radicalism at UPI campus. Specifically, the objective of this research is to describe the roles of the Organizers, Management, and Tutors of the PAI Tutorial in preventing religious radicalism among the students of UPI. Case study research design with qualitative approach was used for this study. The data were collected through observation, documentation study, interviews and triangulation. The analysis of the data was made through reduction, display, verification, and conclusion. The results of the study show that PAI Tutorial has generally played the role of instilling an understanding of tolerant Islam. In particular, it was found that the Organizer of PAI Tutorial has played the role of preparing and implementing policies that prevent the possibilities of intrusion of radicalism. The management as the technical executor of the program helps to implement the Tutorial Program in a way that promote deradicalization. The tutors, who have previously undergone training by the Organizer, play the role of intilling an understanding of telerant Islam in their tutees during the group tutoring activities.
