Abstract

Penelitian ini di latar belakangi oleh orang tua yang memiliki anak tunagrahita sedang, yang belum memahami bagaimana perkembangan keterampilan komunikasi anak tunagrahita sedang, sehingga perkembangan komunikasi anak tidak berkembang secara optimal. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah merumuskan program pelatihan orang tua dalam meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi anak tunagrahita sedang. Subjek penelitian ini adalah orang tua serta anak tunagrahita sedang usia 5 tahun yang mengalami hambatan komunikasi dan bersekolah di SLB X Bandung. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan atau research and development, dengan menggunakan metode analisis deskriptif. Desain yang digunakan yaitu Analyze Desain Develop Implementation Evaluation (ADDIE). Hasil penelitian ini adalah sebuah produk atau program pelatihan orang tua dalam meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi anak tunagrahita sedang, serta hasil uji keterlaksanaan menunjukkan adanya perubahan pemahaman orang tua tentang kondisi objektif anak, sikap, interaksi dalam keluarga dan peningkatan keterampilan komunikasi anak meski tidak terlalu signifikan. ;---This study is in the background by parents who have moderate mental retardation children, who do not understand how the development of the mentally retarded child is developing, so that the development of children's communication does not develop optimally. The purpose of this study is to formulate a parent training program to improve the communication skills of children with moderate intellectual disabilities. The subjects of this study were parents and 5-year-old children with intellectual disabilities who experienced communication barriers and attended SLB X Bandung. The research approach used is research and development or research and development, using descriptive analysis methods. The design used is Analyze Develop Implementation Evaluation (ADDIE) Design. The results of this study are a product or parental training program to improve the communication skills of children with moderate intellectual disabilities, as well as the results of the implementation tests show a change in parents' understanding of the child's objective conditions, attitudes, interactions in the family and improvement of children's communication skills although not too significant.
