Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa serta respon siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran dengan pendekatan konstruktivisme berbasis hands-on activity dan siswa yang mendapatkaan pembelajaran konvensional. Desain penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah nonequivalent control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII di salah satu SMP Kota Bandung. Sampel yang digunakan pada penelitian ini sebanyak dua kelas, dengan masing-masing kelas berjulah 32 siswa. Cara pengambilan sampel pada penelitian ini dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sample. Dengan menggunakan uji t dapat disimpulkan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa yang menggunakan pendekatan konstruktivisme berbasis hands-on activity lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional serta sebagian besar siswa memberikann respons positif terhadap pembelajaran matematika dengan menggunakan pendekatan konstruktivisme berbasis hands-on activity;---This study aims to determine the improvement of students' mathematical reasoning abilities and responses of students who get learning withconstructivism approaches hands-on activity and students who get conventional learning . The research design used in this study was nonequivalent control group design. The population in this study were all eight grade students at a junior high schools in Bandung. The sample used in this study was two classes, with each class being 32 students. The method of sampling in this study is technique purposive sample. By using the t test it can be concluded that the increase in students' mathematical reasoning abilities using constructivism approach hands-on activity is higher than students who use conventional learning and most students give positive response to mathematics learning using constructivism approach hands-on activity.
